Re: Denver at Colorado College - Saturday 11/6/10 - Get Well Jesse
As I say, Jay focuses like a laser on the terminally unimportant, blathering AGAIN about the broken air conditioner in the dang bus. These are 20 year old D-1 athletes, you figure 45 minutes in a hot bus is responsible for this trip to the woodshed, idiot? Gwoz will doubtless have some comments about this game during practice next week, but the quicker they put it in the rearview, the better. Hats off to the Tigers who came to play. Unfortunately, you need TWO teams playing to have much of a game.

Losing 9-2 is peanuts compared to the 4 games they played against CC in their inaugural season in 1949-50. DU lost 16-0, 10-0, 14-1 and 10-3 that year. The final tally for the year was CC 50 DU 4. Now that is way worse than tonight.
Rycroft asks Gwoz if it's against the rules to take 'em off the bus when they get back to Denver and work 'em (clearly, that's what he'd like to do) but Gwoz says it's against the rules. I'm thinking he won't scorch 'em, it's not like they aren't embarrassed already, pointing out the obvious won't help. They've got a series coming up and need to have their heads in those games, and making too big a deal about tonight won't help.

Here in Tiger-land we are partying like its '57
The tribute to Martin before the game was very classy by CC. The Tiger crowd, including the massive amount of college students, gave a warm cheer for the fallen Pioneer.
Hockey is such a humbling sport. Last weekend week we get destroyed by the Gophers who also score 9 goals against us. Tonight we destroy DU with a 9-2 score. I don't know what will happen to the Tigers with the rest of the season, but the win tonight was one of the best moments in recent Tiger history. It makes up for all the rough nights that DU slaughtered us... I still have nightmares of Staz killing us a bunch of seasons ago.
