Denver at Bemidji - Saturday 12/10/11

Re: Denver at Bemidji - Saturday 12/10/11

DU has matured in their food offerings this season: Paella, empanadas, hummus wraps, a cupcake stand, veggie cups are just some of their new additions this year

For the media, too? If so, I'm impressed. At Rice stadium, for the final home game of the season, they have roast prime in the press box. Plus some of their deservedly famous home made brownies. Definitely yummy.

Scoring chances are nice, but how about some goals!
Good thing Jussi is playing well. How about helping him with some goals?

As I say, drop four or five down their smokestack. One or two would be really nice.

Anyone who works the games in really any fashion gets an $8-13 meal stipend, depending on your role, for basically any food offered in the arena (minus the nut stand, lemonade stand and alcohol). I'm not entirely sure what media gets...

That sounds like a good deal. All my years at DU I never ate anything bought from a concession stand. It was all FREE, FREE, FREE in the press box. The fact that the food was horrible (on a good day) was entirely beside the point. Clearly the offerings at Magness are galaxies better than the Arena. I'd guess a concessionaire is responsible for the food.

Oklahoma keeping us in the game. DU going on the "power" play. Please, just don't give up a goal.

I believe only lemonade is stocked in the press box nowadays. I absolutely do remember the free food (since I was able to get at it) in the old press box.

FREE just changes your outlook, period. In the "Launch Pad" in the Astrodome before and after Astros' games, they used to serve huge portions of cold boiled shrimp, hot sauce, and ice cold beer (among other things). That was special. All you could eat. I occasionally missed the first inning.

BSU 1 DU 0 end 2nd, Jussi has kept DU in this one. DU needs a good 3rd period to get the win here.

Seriously, Olki has to be one of the most pleasant surprises I can personally remember DU bringing in during my 30ish years of following the Pios.
