Re: Democratic Challengers 2020 - 12: The End of the Beginning
One of my union members routinely shows up to meetings in his trump/2020 baseball cap. Last month he fussed long and hard about the fact that his employer got a nice tax cut and his paycheck grew by about a dollar. Yet try to tell him a Warren presidency would probably raise his overall take-home pay and he won't have it. Won't listen, doesn't care.
If his part of the electorate was just a quarter of the population you couldn't horde enough people into the right states to ever have a republican win the presidency. It is so God-awfully more than 25%. It may not be half. It's probably not 48% or 49%. But so much more of America is lost, and probably lost for good. The fight demands people realize how hard it will be. This ain't the 1987 Edmonton Oilers taking on Dave Poulin's last Notre Dame team. This is going to be a 7 game final with at least 2 or 3 of them going OT. But we're gonna win God d am n it!
I don't see Warren as "divisive" in the least. She's for protecting consumers and curtailing the power of large international banks and financial firms. I judge those to both be popular positions with large majorities of Americans.
We cannot choose our candidates based on the 25% who watch Fox. They will by definition hate anyone their masters tell them to hate. Those people are done. The rest of the country is worth paying attention to; not them.
