Sanders has caught Biden in the SC polling.

Sanders is ahead (typically WAY ahead) in 13 of 15 Super Tuesday states. Klobuchar has MN and Biden has AL (?).

The DNC needs a magic bullet to protect those Alexandria mansions from the hoards of those awful, gross... middle income people. Chris Matthews is panicking!

Oh. My. God. That's horrible. Bloomberg 2020!

You know d@mn well that when Bernie says, "We're very opposed to the authortarian nature of Cuba, BUT..." all the righties, skeptical centrists, and media will hear in the part after "BUT".

Also, how exactly does a dictator "come into office"? Does he get peacefully elected? Does he just wander in casually one day and decide to call himself "El Presidente"?

Re: Democratic Challengers 10: If we stop fighting Nazis, the world will die.

On the contrary, I don't give a flying fig what you think. As if the people on this thread represent the electorate. As if we represent the Democratic Party electorate. It amuses me to see a bunch of middle-aged white men complain about "Bernie Bros" and wring their hands about the evils of Socialism.

Of course you dont give a flying fig...you are too busy fighting to save the Republic while us lazy folk are sitting in here discussing the issues. You certainly arent in here wringing your hands every time someone dares question the Sainthood of Bernard.

And no, the quote is not a bad one in and of itself. The point wasnt that though, it was how it will play in a State that is close. Not exactly a new thing, and despite what Kepler says it has zero to do with the media spinning the world against Bernie. This is an election, and every comment by every viable candidate gets ripped to shreds. The Cubans in Florida have already shown a propensity for flipping out every time anything is mentioned about it and the GOP is sure to cut the quote to make it seem like exactly what they are biased to think it says. Those are the types of errors candidates need to avoid. Need we go through the list of every candidate over the years and the small gaffes they may have made that blew up 10000 times larger than they needed to be? (most of them being Plute Loving so no conspiracy possible) Can we just accept that this isnt some Plute Conspiracy to keep the THE ONE TRUE GOD down and chalk it up to exactly what it is...the lame *** media doing what it always does because **** if it doesnt make them money.

(it is obvious who they want to win and they can eat a bag of dicks for that...but this isnt part of that this is just their usual game to pretend and matter)

Bernie is going to win this, if for no other reason than now no one else can barring a miracle revival. Bloomberg is so badly outmatched even his money cant save him. He wants to pull a Trump, but Trump was popular with people because of his TV show. No one has ever liked Bloomberg, and he represents everything everyone hates about rich politicians in New York. Him joining destroyed any shot the Centrists had to steal this thing because he is completely unlikeable. He can show pictures of him shaking hands with Obama all he wants for all the good it will do him...

But the Bernie people (not Bernie himself) need to tone down the rhetoric a bit. Not everything is some slap in the face of Bernie. Bernie is not the messiah come down to destroy the 1% and be the scourge of corporate interests. Not everyone is going to love him, not everyone will even like him a lot but you need everyone to vote for him. and before you jump out of your seats screaming I am not suggesting Bernie change any belief or policy he has, I am not saying he should pivot nor should his people. He should run the Dem-Socialist/Progressive campaign through and through. (go for Gold 100%) I am saying they need to be less abrasive. To win we need everyone, so open your arms and act like all are welcome. Just because not everyone is on the same page on some issues doesnt make them evil sellouts bent by corporate interests and duped by the Plutes, it just means they havent gotten there yet. We can get them there though, we can get them all where we are if we just stop acting like a bunch freshmen protesting on the quad.

Then, when we win, you drag them to the here and now. By the time you are done they wont even realize they changed at all.

While it is probably true that Sanders supporters exaggerate how much the mainstream Democratic machine is out to get him it is certainly true that the mainstream Democratic machine exaggerates the degree to which Sanders supporters are blind, naive cultists.

I assure you, I am very pragmatic. I back Sanders not just because I do have the same basic values, but also because I see it as a practical move towards building a strong coalition against Nazism going forward. The Dems have owned the Center since Cheney drove the GOP off a cliff. What we have lacked is a principled and animated Left. Now we seem to have stumbled into the best choice.

It's time for both sides to stand down and stop nitpicking each other. Time to stop being selfish and start working together to unseat the monsters who are temporarily holding our government and the entire world hostage. We said vote blue no matter who. Welp, this is blue time. Get on the bus.

Bloomberg is the wildcard. With his money he can do anything in this race. Screenshots are already popping up showing his Bot-farms (although for some reason he hired real people at $2500/month instead of actual bots) hard at work on social media.

And you know that if Sanders ends up with 1989 delegates instead of the magic 1990 the nominee will be someone else.

The media is going to play its games, we dont need to feed it to win. The Sanders followers arent as bad as MSNBC pretends they are but they arent as puerile as you think they are either. If they even turn the dial down from 10 to 8 it will help.

They are about to pull this off against pretty hard odds...they should already start acting like it. and I dont mean like Hillary where you declare yourself victorious but shifting the narrative from "Everyone is against us" to "Dont Be Left Behind".

Yes.

Maybe we can change that. One thing I think can really come of this is not just a historic nomination and then a historic presidency but also the US finally growing up. US politics has been juvenile about class and economics since the 1940s. The Red Scare gave the Plutes the perfect tool to wrap themselves in the flag and censor any direct political discussion about the weaknesses and immorality of capitalism. The ruling class structure was not to be criticized in any way. It was fine in colleges and among a few leaflet distributing Jews in major cities, but Ma and Pa Kettle were not, under any circumstance, ever, to be permitted to question the fiscal system that kept them enslaved to the 1%, and kept them falling farther and farther behind as the rich's fortunes grew.

So this is a chance to change that. It can be done. Other Western democracies also have very strong 1% ruling elites who will lie, cheat, steal and even kill to keep their wealth growing at the expense of every other person's health, safety, and happiness. And yet there are class conscious Left movements in almost every European country. The US has been an exception ironically because the 1% were thwarted at the height of their power in the 1930s and for a while there was enough of a vibrant middle class created by pseudo-socialism to keep the pressure off. But now the Plutes' own success at gaming the system has destroyed the well being of the American middle class and that magic shield has been eliminated.

Our grand kids can be the first generation of Americans who are grownups. Once that happens then let the normal rules of democratic politics play out -- the marketplace of free thought and expression will take care of the rest. We will have a gentle oscillation between a rational Left and a rational Right. It's merely that because of the deformations of the last fifty years both of those positions will be far, far, far to the Left of the exaggeratedly right wing fascism that is currently the norm of American politics.

We're not going to reach a promised land. We're just curing the cancer America has been dying of since 1980.

I agree completely. We must be magnanimous in victory. Be inclusive. And when we are smeared either deliberately by the Plutes' lackeys (witting or unwitting) or just because of the laziness and monotonous inertia of a media that only knows warmed over 1980s talking points, patiently rebut them with good humor.

Be welcoming. Be confident. Be funny. It's amazing how long a way just those three things go.

Our freshmen never protested. They were too busy being indoctrinated by General Dynamics and Dow to help make more tanks and Agent Orange.

2003, our freshmen weren't protesting. They were drinking sh-t beer and f-cking anything that moves. Last I checked, they're still doing that.

Only the Democratic candidates.

If Klobuchar says "the last four decades have been great for Wall Street, but...." she's gonna get pained as just a big a raving socialist commie as Bernie will be.

There's no avoiding it. So no need to tiptoe around, weighing your words to cause as little outrage as possible. Cause the Right's gonna gin up outrage, no matter what. That said, you do have to make sure you don't make obvious blunders.

so maybe somebody can explain why Sanders won in both Iowa & NH, and yet did not get the most delegates.
I thought the Democrats were all for the person getting the most votes being the winner.

Don't think. It can only hurt the ball club.
