Everyone's okay with gay now. Now if Hunter were trans...

No, not everybody is okay with gay. I’ve seen and heard too many comments recently, example: the Oscars red carpet host (Billie Porter?). Nasty things I’d heard lobbed at him by some people when waiting in the ER that night.

Re: Demcratic Challengers 11: Saving the Republic one voter at a time!

269 people voted for Deval Patrick in the SC Primary.

God bless America.

Re: Demcratic Challengers 11: Saving the Republic one voter at a time!

That ticket would make sense. It's not like Sanders is going to pick Booker or Buttigieg.

Sanders' good veeps:

Abrams
Warren
Baldwin

Abrams should have run. She'd have had a clear path.

Re: Demcratic Challengers 11: Saving the Republic one voter at a time!

47% of South Carolinians stated that Jim Clyburn's endorsement of Biden played an important factor in their vote. In an era where "the party decides" isn't much of a factor anymore, based on Trump being POTUS and Bernie Sanders still leading the Democratic race, that's a pretty **** big deal...and it makes sense why Clyburn made the endorsement when he did. That said, no one outside of South Carolina gives a s**t who Clyburn endorsed, so this is still a 100% let the voters decide primary contest. There's no coordinated effort to stop Sanders, since Joe Biden would have been the obvious choice months ago for the party leaders/moderates talking in all these newspaper articles. That should say something about their seriousness (or complete and utter incompetence) in preventing Bernard from winning the nomination.

Re: Demcratic Challengers 11: Saving the Republic one voter at a time!

I was told Sanders doesn’t have a race problem.

Re: Demcratic Challengers 11: Saving the Republic one voter at a time!

I think Sanders will be fine with the races outside of SC. He is gonna be a huge winner on Super Tuesday and most likely be one of 3 standing.

As for the idea of Warren on the ticket with him...not if they want to win. Plus she is more important as a Senator. This idea of wasting Senators on Veep needs to die the Dems need every Senator they can get.

I do like the idea of Gillum.

I think Warren is the worst choice for Sanders. I think that ticket would lose even the popular vote. Abrams and Gillum both sound appealing, but Gillum’s highest office held is Mayor of Tallahassee. Abrams was minority leader in GA’s House of Representatives, although I’d say she s more qualified than Gillum. If Sanders is the nominee, and if he wins the general, he’s already 78, with one heart attack on his resume. I’m not sure Gillum is who I’d personally want. How about Kamala Harris, or Cory Booker?

Re: Demcratic Challengers 11: Saving the Republic one voter at a time!

How about Kamala Harris, or Cory Booker?

Booker is the opposite of Sanders. He's trapped back in the myth that if we solve racism everything will be OK: he's fine with Plutes as long as they're diverse. The reason Sanders is winning is the electorate has finally wised up.

Harris... I guess, though she's also a throwback to obsolete Obama governance. The thing that makes Harris attractive is she's rock solid on procedure and justice. Kamala will make sure Jamie Diamond gets due process before we march him to the National Razor.

He doesn't, however there's a way to ensure he becomes very popular among blacks. Sanders is a 78-year old with a bad heart. Pick Abrams as veep. Old black people understand actuarial tables.

He doesn't. He has a South Carolina problem. PoC in other states don't seem to have an issue with him.

Part of Mr. Sanders’s strength among Latinos can be chalked up to the fact that the Hispanic population in the United States skews younger than the rest of the country — and Mr. Sanders continues to draw by far his strongest support from voters under 50.

“Our population is so young that most of the people are in the 40-and-under category,” Matt Barreto, a founder of the polling firm Latino Decisions, said in an interview. “So in the aggregate he is doing really well” among Hispanic voters.

Indeed, Mr. Sanders remains far more popular among younger Latino voters than among older ones. But he now runs a strong second to Mr. Biden even among Latinos over 50, pulling 21 percent of their votes, according to a Pew survey released on Thursday. All of the other Democratic candidates poll in the single digits with this group.

It’s not just happening in Texas and California, and Latinos are not the only voters of color supporting Mr. Sanders to a significant degree. A national CNN poll released last week found Mr. Sanders pulling 30 percent of all nonwhite voters to Mr. Biden’s 27 percent.

The Democratic Party’s white electorate has grown markedly more liberal over the past two decades, but African-American and Hispanic Democrats — who now make up roughly two-fifths of the party’s membership — still tend to identify as moderate or conservative, according to years of Gallup data.

But when asked which candidate best understood the problems facing people like them, nonwhite voters were nine points more likely to name Mr. Sanders than Mr. Biden, the CNN poll found.

I think he’s got an age problem more than a race problem.

Blacks under 30 he won 38-36. Certainly not the margin he usually wins the youth vote by, but still a win. Problem is they were only 6% of the total vote.
He lost by increasingly larger margins to the older age groups who made up an increasingly larger percentage of the vote. Blacks 60+ he lost 75-9, who were 21% of the voters.

He did do better with white voters, so it’s not entirely age, but he’s still seeing a trend. He won whites under 40 around 45-12, but they only made up 10% of the vote. He got crushed by older whites who were 30%.

Biden's going to do well among old blacks in places where in the 50's they had lynchings as the entertainment between the double feature. Older black voters internalized "don't make waves" and they gravitate towards paternalistic white politicians who won't rock the boat.

They're like Jews in a 19th century shtetl. May the Lord bless and keep the Czar... far away from us!

Younger blacks are not putting up with Moscow Mitch and the Suppressions. They've had enough of Nazis and they're going to vote for the Bear Jew.
