Re: Dead!!!!

True, but I still think my favorite is Jonathan Winters destroying the gas station.

Did you notice throughout that scene that Arnold Stang is not able to really move one wrist and forearm? it had been broken previous to filming and he did the entire thing in a fixed cast.

I think I had seen Mr. Winters on youtube explaining that, and how concerned he was about not injuring the guy even further. By the way,for fans of the movie, there's a newish Criterion DVD that adds back a bunch of lost or strayed film. I think it was like 30 or 40 minutes!

Sad, awful news. MT @MikeDiGiovanna: Dennis Gilbert confirms that #Braves scout Jim Fregosi has died. Was in hospital after heart attack.

Mark Twain Syndrome..
Tracy Ringolsby ‏@TracyRingolsby ~7:25 PM ET
Jim Fregosi is still in a Miami hospital. He suffered multiple strokes. He has not died.

Maybe not. Stinks
Gordon Edes ‏@GordonEdes ~7:48PM ET
RT @TracyRingolsby: Jim Fregosi taken off life support. Still alive. Miracles do happen. Let us pray.

Arnold Stang: "What a chunk of chocolate."

Re: Dead!!!!

Reports are that Jim Fregosi has been taken off of life support after a series of strokes. He was 71.

Re: Dead!!!!

He's dead. from what I heard. Sorry, no link right now. But IIRC, the Braves tweeter said it.

Re: Dead!!!!

Others are retracting that he's already dead, but that's certainly where we're headed, and sooner rather than later.

What they did is restore the original 40 minutes that had been removed before the first release. It is really a wonderful job done by the people at Criterion. The new release Blu Ray is incredible. There are just some of the older movies that come back to life with the new restoration process and the Blu Ray versions are worth owning.
