1. Chuck Berry
2. Jerry Lee Lewis
3. Little Richard

And before people squawk, British Invasion, and Soul, and R&B, and Brill are all very important additives, and the groups and songs might even be better. But they are rock and roll plus x. The three above are rock and roll, straight no chaser. And as importantly, they have three of the biggest middle fingers of all time.

You hit that one on the button! This, of course was my era of introduction to music. These 3 were rock. Could add perhaps Antoine Domino but he was not not the hard stuff.
