The Express, the free tabloid published by The Washington Post, will publish its last issue tomorrow. :(

It couldn't compete with the idiocy of the Examiner.

The right owns tabloids like it owns talk radio. It's a naturally dumbed-down format.

Eddie Money has cashed in one of his Two Tickets to Paradise.

The Examiner, which now comes out every 2 weeks, has better crossword puzzles than the Express ever had. With the Express folding and the recent change of the Epoch Times from free to pay for home delivery, I will have to find something else to do while at Starbucks.

I wonder if his last words were Take Me Home Tonight but he just couldn’t hold on

No longer saying "I'm All Right". (Yes he is on that song and had a long-standing feud with Kenny Loggins based on it.)

There is only one crossword.

Much like people hate Boston and deride them as "corporate rock", I never understood the appeal of the Cars. They're OK, I guess. Usually get a dial flip from me.

IIRC, he made his biggest impact as a producer. The Cars were ok, IMO, but that's about it.

I am hearing a lot of us youngins saying the same. People that were around and remember their start are singing a different tune. They were on the cutting edge of combining rock and new wave in the late 70's.

Re: Dead Thread 2019-???: Yep, They're Still Dead.

The Cars and Rick Ocasek was fantastic. The idea that they were "corporate" is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. They were New Wave pioneers. By definition, corporate is never pioneering, it's rehash of a safe, anodyne formula.

There is so little music that is both interesting and accessible. Just because everybody knows something doesn't mean it's wrong.
