Original Met Al Jackson

Ouch.

He was a great guy. GKR would have him on the broadcasts from time to time. He was beloved among Mets pitchers. Sweet as honey West Texas accent with a broad, smiling personality to match.

Rest in piece, Mr. Jackson.

In the words of Bob Murphy... "the little southpaw born on Christmas Day in Waco, Texas."

To give you an idea of how good Jackson was, and how he suffered, he turned in a 2.9 WAR in a season in which he lost 20 games.

David Koch has done so much for science because of his philanthropy. It’s actually kind of a sad day, especially for PBS viewers like me.

That’s said, **** him. He caused so much evil and destruction to this country and the planet’s climate.

He was great for the arts. The tragedy is he was not a miser, he was generous where he thought it counted. And where he thought it counted was a Randian grift that told the rich their greed was a moral good. To fall for that was a 17-year old boy is forgivable (I mean, I hope) but as an adult it is the mark of a man not just lacking ethics and heart but lacking simple sense. Any non-cognitively deficient adult can tell Jesus was morally superior to J. P. Morgan.

And his wife and family will be by his side pleading Baby Hold On.

I saw a free Eddie Money concert at the Kansas City Power and Light District by happenstance about 5 years ago. He looked like he was 60 going on 90 at that point.

I worked a concert he had in St Paul probably about 12 years ago. Yeah, he sounded like he had this then. Not good.
