Re: DEAD THREAD 2017: "This guy here is dead!"..."Cross him off, then!"

is there no truth in what they are saying?

I'm kinda with mookie on this one. You engage in risky behavior, don't be surprised if you end up dead.

Like the guy last year with the batsuit or whatever you call them, jumping off a mountain and trying to sail through a hole in the canyon wall, and being just a bit off target. Splat.

Oh, "but he was doing what he loved". OK. Sure. Doesn't mean I need to pretend to be sad that it killed him.

The sadness is not for the guy. Guy's dead, he doesn't exist anymore. It's for his surviving loved ones. And even if you have some idea of "he got what he deserved," they didn't.

Come on, folks. Ease off the accelerator a little.

Precisely. I've rarely felt sad for someone that is dead, especially when I didn't know them. I also don't think that being a bit of an adrenaline junkie makes you an automatic jerk.

If it makes the next fool think twice then it’s a ok

We used somewhat the same tactic with seatbelts.

Boston radio hosts apparently don't want jobs anymore.

Jk, they'll probably keep them because sports talk radio is all about the Hot Takes[SUP]TM[/SUP], but still despicable.

...and people wonder why Kep wants to nuke Boston (well, that and the Southie stereotype). Nice job, a55hats.

I don't want to nuke Boston. Beacon Hill and the Back Bay are very, very pretty.

I just want the population of Boston to be traded for the population of, say, Charleston.

The plane Roy was flying has been described as a Jet Ski with wings or sports car with wings, the designer, developer of said plane also died in one. Halladay had 7 or 800 hours flying, not a lot but hardly inexperienced. Be interesting to know how many hours he had in a Icon a5 . His dad was a pilot so I'm surprised he didn't know the adage about old pilots and bold pilots.

Or Charlestown?
Gentrification has taken over Charlestown as much as Southie. Sold my condo in Southie in May and moved a little further south. New condo development going up everywhere to the point of oversaturation. I miss the 15 minute walk to work but a commute on the Red Line for 2 more years and I'm done with the rat race. Couldn't deal with the what I like to call AMYS. (A*shole Millenial Yuppie Scum).

Double fares are gone. Get a bus & subway pass for $85 a month and get reimbursed $25 a month by my employer. Not too shabby.
