Days Since Last Mass Shooting: 0

Re: Days Since Last Mass Shooting: 0

If you banned the retail sale of them or manufacturing of them for anyone other than military/police, they would eventually become less common. But god forbid we do something that requires looking ahead farther than tomorrow.

But they would still be there. In the hands of people who committed atrocities like what happened in FLA.

As for the creative manner comment, I refer to my question of 8 deaths being acceptable. If not, let's ban knives, too. It's not the tool, it's the attitude behind the tool.

Re: Days Since Last Mass Shooting: 0

I've never, ever handled a weapon with the intention of killing "someone". Killing animals (birds, deer), sure. Otherwise, strictly targets.

But yes, a guns lone purpose is a man killing hunk of metal, absolutely.

The AR-15 was designed to be, and would quickly become, the standard weapon of the military. Its intended purpose is to kill people.

And you use your gun to hunt? That's killing things too, even if not people. You own it for self defense? If you ever need to use it, you're using it to seriously injure/kill someone.

None of that is using a gun creatively.

1 life is unacceptable. But even Forest Gump would understand that 8 is better than 50 (or 103, if you count wounded).

Re: Days Since Last Mass Shooting: 0

Can you even imagine how long it would take to kill 50 people with a knife?

Be happy the bomb vest he was wearing didn't get used (or failed).
Then you could potentially add a zero to the number.

The British papers are reporting the suicide vest:

And before we start blaming "guns" ... how'd the Paris attackers get guns in tough gun law France? Belgium has tough gun laws, yet Brussels too.

So let's ban pointy things.

I'm FOR better standards for owning a gun, but it still won't stop these tragedies. I'm AGAINST the fools, and I say that on purpose, that think banning guns will make guns disappear. Hard drugs are banned, too. Hmm.

Well, yes, a gun has the capacity to kill. But, as the user of a gun, I have to make that decision to utilize it in such a way.

Killing animals is bad, hm? OK, no more hunting allowed. Let's allow the animal populations to balloon above and beyond a healthy and manageable herd level. Consequence? More vehicular accidents due to overpopulation, potentially including fatal accidents. Is that a better scenario?

Precisely my point.

But let's ban guns, eliminating hunting animals in the discipline we know today. How do we then go about managing the population of animals in civilized areas? Poisons? Only allowing DEC/Rangers to perform the task that literally thousands of hunters struggle to do currently?

Re: Days Since Last Mass Shooting: 0

Then please enlighten me as to how our attacker acquired one. He couldn't buy one in a store, so it must have just magically appeared in his living room huh?

It's banned, therefore you can't get one. Duh. Just like the anti-gun people want guns banned.

So your argument is that suicide vests should be advertised and sold over the counter because it's possible for people to get them anyway?

And your argument is to ban them, because then no one could get them at all?

So screw tough laws because they dont work anyways? My lord you couldnt parrot talking points any better if you tried.

Banning guns is stupid but pretending guns arent the problem is so ridiculous it defies logic.

Guns are not the problem. The mentality and/or stupidity behind the guns are the problem. Leaving guns out on the counter, extremists (religious or otherwise), mentally disturbed....THAT'S the problem.
