Dartmouth Versus RPI? No, no, no!

Re: Dartmouth Versus RPI? No, no, no!

Wow. Very disappointing for that to end in a loss, but I am SO proud of the effort by the team tonight. It looked bad there for a few minutes in the 2nd, but they were able to shake it off when they got the powerplay(s), and the result was fantastic. Unfortunate that all their hard work didn't result in a goal there in the third, but they can and should be proud of what they did.

Can't complain about the effort. DC got a couple of lucky bounces and we missed some real good looks - especially Lee. All he had to do was slide that one in on the ice and it's a goal. Lots of goals out there if you shoot low. All in all I'd say this was good progress.

Re: Dartmouth Versus RPI? No, no, no!

Back from seeing the game with my son - A good time was had by all even with the loss... They came out looking very good in the first. My son commented that we held Dartmouth without a shoot for almost the first 6 minutes of the game. Disappointing they couldn;t hold the leading going into the locker room. Dreaded second was just that - Green looked like they stepped it up a notch in the 2nd, and RPI was awful until the power play chances. D was VERY timid with the puck, and Dartmouth took advantage. 3rd period was a return to form, and they battled hard but couldn't get the equalizer. As was commented here, Lee had a WIDE open goal but took WAy too long making sure it was a good shot on net - Just need to pull the trigger on those opportunities.

Merriam only looked okay tonight - Let in a couple another goalie would have stopped. He needs to get a little more aggressive on the puck. A little stick check could have prevented that third 2-1 goal that went in off our D-man. Dartmoouth's goalie was bugging us all night long, challenging the shooter, nudging our D with his stick... Nothing bad, just good gamesmenship. Merriam waits for the play to come to him, and is often so far back in his net, there is no room for a mistake.

Overall, I was impressed with RPI's play tonight, and the way they didn't fold in the face of a 3 goal deficit. I hope they can bring the same intensity to Harvard tomorrow night!

Was at tonight's game... I echo comments of jmhusker, RedAERO91 and puckfan90. HFH was alive after our two PPGs late in 2nd period. Let's build on tonight's effort v. Harvard on Saturday night.

Re: 2-1 Dartmouth

Their play was much much better than their play against Army. Definitely still needs work, but happy to see some better play.
