Dartmouth @ RPI - Saturday, Feb 2nd

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI - Saturday, Feb 2nd

Who are these guys? up 3-0 after 2 periods. Some little defensive sloppiness but Dartmouth was on the ropes for much of the middle part of the period. We play 20 more minutes like this and we have a heck of a weekend.

No, I've got rpitv and the thread on my laptop at home. The picture is great... but I'm wondering about sound... is the crowd a little quiet for a BRF? I know it's a sellout, but the sound's a little muted.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI - Saturday, Feb 2nd

Thought much the same thing... but I keep on thinking, 20 more minutes...
Who are these guys? We've been building consistency for a few weeks... playing a system and some player development... a bit of synergy.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI - Saturday, Feb 2nd

Miller and Kasdorf's play this year shows that stats in the USHL don't mean much when players go to college.

This is why some scouts get paid so much. And often they have to look at 14 year olds and predcit how they will look in the better leagues 5 years ahead of time.

Re: 3-0 rpi

Watching Kasdorf carefully-he just looks so sure of himself for a freshman. He is a bit intimidating to shoot against as he takes up a lot of room and doesn't give you much of a first look. If he controls his rebounds and can direct things to the corners-he is tough to beat.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI - Saturday, Feb 2nd

On the CJ Lee short handed breakaway-why was that not called a tripping penalty on DC? The defenseman did not seem to get the puck-only the skates.

If you are referring to pro scouts, they don't have to decide until they are 18.

If you are talking about college scouts, there are none, just the coaches. At least there are not supposed to be any scouts for colleges.

I was going to post the same thing, but then Kurt said that after watching the replay it didn't look like a real trip. To me it almost looked like a penalty shot should be called had he missed -- but I am biased. :D

And you honestly think that pro scouts can even think about waiting on kids until they are 18? They are looking at kids as young as 14 all day long. They may not commit to them-but they have to make decisions about who they will pursue that early.

I would not have expected a penalty shot since CJ did not have a clear path to the goal-but that was a trip to my eyes.

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI - Saturday, Feb 2nd

Kasdorf and Morris are bot pretty good sized goalies. K does seem to be playing with a greater measure of smooth, fluid action. Whether it's better technique or confidence, it's noticeable.

What are the saves through two periods?

Re: Dartmouth @ RPI - Saturday, Feb 2nd

4820... nice crowd. Hey R, remember when 3800/4000 was pretty typical in the 70's? Still wondering if the crowd's a little muffled on rpitv? Guess most of our posters are at the game.

As of 8:55, here's some scores:
Brown 5 Princeton 1 F
Quinny 4 Yale 2 v late in 3rd
Clarkson 5 Cornell 3 3rd
SLU 3 Colgate 2 3rd

I don;t think were geting much help with these scores, but the big thing is our continued consistent play. We need to add points, the rest wil take care of itself.

As you said we have to win. There are too many teams that we have to pass for us to root for anyone (except QU to win).
