D3FHL Draft 2012-2013

What's the ruling on the Bowdoin kids that are listed F/D?

Two options

1. Contact the coach or find a poster from that team and ask what the primary is
2. Pick him and if he turns out that what you picked him as is not right you will be forced to switch/trade and DQ the previous weeks you used the player in...

Since some are D/F and some are F/D, I'm guessing that the D/F are primarily Defensemen and the F/D are primarily forwards.

Could very well be Prof never looked at it

Having said that tho.... If you DO pick up a D/F player and he plays D but plays Forward on the PP or a full game or two during the season you will NOT be penalized. Now if he starts as a D and the team is in need of a forward and he switches half way through the season, you will then need to switch him out if it happens. Again, we can not control what a coach or player does but in the fairness of the game we can not have 5 forwards and 3 defensmen on a team. When things like injuries or players switching teams/conferences it can put a pinch on your lineup. I try to be flexable, but there are some limits to the rules.

Re: D3FHL Draft 2012-2013

Doug Lindensmith F, Norwich, ECAC-E
Jared Docking F, Plattsburgh, SUNYAC
Riley Horgan F, St Thomas, MIAC

It was noted in the Norwich thread that Doug did not return to Norwich. You can take the chance in you want, but if I were a betting man I might hurry up and pick another player ASAP.

Dang, he was one of the guys I had last year and wanted to keep. Should have kept him and chanced picking up the under the radar choice of Forkey in a later round. Forkey lost a lot of time to injury last year. Good pick, even though I don't like the Spartans at all.

Re: D3FHL Draft 2012-2013

how does scoring work in the D3FHL?

Look at Remy's page, but goals are 2, assists 1, PP goal another 3, SH goals are 4. Goalies are score based on W-L-T record, save % and GAA according to some magic formula that I haven't found :D. You play head to head on the weekend based on points accumulated by your starting 6. Grand totals are also tallied

Re: D3FHL Draft 2012-2013

D3FHL Rules

We also have a few "bonus" weeks where we do a Tourney "Pick-Em" for extra points and we also do Bonus Goal points or Game Winner Points...but that's all up in the air on when and what.

The Conf weeks you will go head to head with the other member. You pick a full line (3F,2D,1G) out of your team and those players are the ones who get you the points for the week. Member with the highest point total out of those players win. Your other players still continue to get points, they are just not counted in your weekly point total. The NC weeks there are no "Teams" to be picked as all points for that week just go into your overall point total.

Playoffs will be based on your Conf W/L record. If tied it will go by overall point total to set the seeds. Then its just like the regular season. You pick your team and so on.

I just realized that too....
GAA PTS
0.00 - .999 10
1.00 - 1.49 9
1.50 - 1.99 8
2.00 - 2.49 7
2.50 -2.99 6
3.00 - 3.49 5
3.50 -3.99 4
4.00 - 5.99 2
6.00 - 6.99 1
7.00+ 0

Keep in mind this is over the whole weekend, and if goes by minutes played, not games. That did come into play last season at one point.

Re: D3FHL Draft 2012-2013

vxcx3200 will be making his picks at somepoint today. He is busy with other obligations during the day but will try and make them shortly.

NEHockeyFan07 On deck
Mount in the hole

Jabber will be skipped unless he shows up before his picks.

Don't forget, the 3rd and 4th round are 3 picks each to give you your 9 player team.

Remy, what is the save % table? And one more thing (the statistician want to know) If a goalie plays only one game on the weekend and allows 2 goals in 60 minutes, does he get 7 points for the weekend? What if a goalie plays two games and allows 4 goals for a 2.00 GAA for the weekend - he gets the same 7 points? Seems to me the second goalie's 2.00 is better than the first. The only advantage the second goalie has is that he can pick up two wins instead of only 1. If that's what it is, that's what it is, but it becomes important as I evaluate goalies.

We stopped the save% table last year because to many schools don't keep an accurate stat.

And yes if a goalie plays one game and has the same GAA as a goalie who played two or three then yes they get the same point. Id love to do it by game but yea um no my wife would kill me.

I don't go through game by game I simply copy and paste the USCHO team stats. Unless there is an issue.
