D3 Hockey is back!

Re: D3 Hockey is back!

My understanding is that a Game Misconduct does not require a next game suspension. 2013-14 Conn Coll player w game misconduct played her next game. A Match Misconduct requires a next game suspension.

If that's not correct, then the Conn College player was an ineligible player in her next game ... she played.
There is a misconduct and then there is a misconduct with game disqualification. Two different penalties.

Also, 3 game misconducts in a year carries a 1-game suspension as well.

I finally went back and saw the play in question. The call to assess the DQ in this case was correct.

Re: D3 Hockey is back!

Is there video available online somewhere? Just curious.

Yes, I watched the replay. You should be able to get to the You Tube video off of the NCHA site. Scroll ahead to about 7 minutes left in 3rd period. And Hammer is correct, a DQ was justified. I don't understand why she did that. Looked like she was kicking the SNC player laying on the ice. She got a 5 minute kicking major plus the DQ. The DQ brings an automatic suspension for next game per NCAA rules.

When I try to go to the video it says it is private. Can you post a link to it? I saw it live(on video)...it was an ugly play

Yep, I just checked too. It is no longer available. They must switch videos to private shortly after an event. I watched the replay either late Sunday night or Monday night.
