D-III action finally kicked off today with some of the programs playing exhibition games.

Elmira lost to the Cambridge Fury 5-2 at the Domes today. Jenna McCall and Lauryn DePaul scored the two Elmira goals.

Other D-III teams in action today:

Westman Wildcats @ Wis.-Superior
Nepean Wildcats @ Oswego
Burlington Cougars @ RIT

EDIT: Nepean is leading Oswego 3-0 in the third period. The Lakers have managed just six shots so far to Nepean's 19.

Superior won 3-1 over the Westman Wildcats.

Jasmine Pollock and Kim Schmeichel each had a goal and an assist to lead the Jackets.

Nepean finished off the shutout of Oswego to down the Lakers 3-0.

RIT takes on Burlington tonight at 7pm in the only other D-III game today.

Play actually started Wednesday. Nepean played Potsdam earlier in the week, and also plays Neuman and Utica this weekend:

RIT hammered Burlington 8-1, outshooting them by a wide margin.
Burlington and Cambridge play in the PWHL in Ontario. Nepean is an Independent team out of Ontario. Westman is out of Manitoba.

Didnt see this thread at first...

Halfway through the 3rd

Neumann-4
Adrian-1

and after 2 periods

Norwich-2
Utica-1

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

Looks like Adrian outshot Neumann. For Adrian to compete as well as last year, they will need to improve their goaltending save pct. and improve scoring pct.

Mostly in the 3rd period when Neumann played more of its younger girls.

Re: D3 Game Updates 2009-2010

Would appreciate any input / recaps on the UWSP St. Thomas series.
Thanks

Allow me my friend.
I saw the last period, it was 3-2 and Point was up. Good pace and physical, a few penalties.
Point made the most their opportunities and on the goal that Marvin scored there was a defensive lapse, carried the puck right to the net uncontested.

The PP goal that ST scored was from the blue line with a lot of traffic and Phillips saw it just at the end, five hole.

Thought it was strange that ST didn't pull their goalie when they controlled the zone with 35 sec. to go.

On Lake Forests website it says that tonights game started at 8:53...I wonder if the odd start time is a tribute to McCarthy?

No, a schedule mix-up at the rink (the local boys HS team was thought to have practice at 6-ish, but instead they had scheduled a game.) Not sure when the two teams were notified, but the players were still doing their off-ice warm-up at 7:20, when warm-ups on ice should have started.

The College had a memorial for Ryann back when classes began.

Thanks, MN.
It's great to get input from one who is known as a "keen observer of the obvious"!
