D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Nice we had to work that hard to get this. It's horrible and means absolutly zero. I can't believe this is your deep Canadian secret. It's just pure crap . You have taken a valid side and produced no reason for people to consider your opinion. This part is for MR. or MRS. 4 Remember it may be your game but we're taking what we want from it and will leave you what we don't want, because we can. Right now we need players, so we take them.In the future we will need less, so we will leave them.

Why did it take you so long to respond? It's because you don't understand it, it's obvious. I try and be nice and this is the best you can do. You have no credibility whatsoever. Go take a long walk off a short pier. You're useless.

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Riiiiiiight. I guess the US hockey players we have on the men's and women's Olympic teams are only disguised as Americans. You make the most ridiculuous statements.

Geez..ask anyone that knows anything about the US game. Your elite players have improved because they have over the years, played with and against Canadian players at the college level.

Why am I talking hockey with people who know nothing about it....

By the looks of things we should be sending some of our curlers down there as well....

What would we ever do without Canada.

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

I'd love to see the state of U.S. college hockey if all Canadians decided to stay home and play. The only reason they go south of the border is because of scholarship opportunities. Expand the scholarship opps in Canada, and the elite Canadian players currently gracing the NCAA would be playing CIS hockey, and U.S. women's hockey would be reduced to a irelevent beer league. I know it hurts, but it's true.

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Why will you need less? Check out St Norbert College. Do you have your head so far up your arse you can't see what's going on around you? You should take an anger management course Pal/Palette. I think by some of your posts earlier on today we can tell why your so angry. Wonder what the Canadian girls on your team would think about your views?

Womens hockey in college has grow at a fast pace over the past few years the pace of that growth will slow down. The number of players in the US is growing at a rate faster then that of college. The programs for those players in youth continue to improve and produce more players with college level skills. With the number of players increasing at a rate faster then roster spots the number of players from outside the US will start to decrease.

Most Hockey people know this. These Nutbars and their -Buy American- mentality will never let themselves be convinced this is the case. Good thing we Canadians still uphold the basic fundementals and principles of the game, I can not imagine what the game would be like if these guys ever got ahold of it.

Pretty accurate statement ! Now i'm sure Crease Monkeys next point will be a critique of the Canadian University system and the failure of our academia to provide adequate funding for our athletes and so on and so on.... then that Hockey 1 due will spice it up with a few oh ya's and told u so's and if only Chatham had more good players and so on and so forth...

Boring discussion..... Fiver and CHG lets beam outta here and get ready for Canada's tarring of TEam USA tomorrow
( god i hope i'm right or it'll be hell on this board Monday);)

Re: D3 Decisions: Running up the score

Creasemonkey....There is great talent in the States and there is great talent in Canada. Teams try to find the best talent that is available, to bolster their teams. It is a very complicated and challenging job to recruit. There are no guarantees with so many teams involved. Many say there is an unfair playing field when you compare advantages to some of the more successful institutions. My problem with you is you seem to have a prejudice toward Canadians stealing scholarships. Scholarships are earned. There is no argument here.
Running up the score threatens the balance and integrity of any league. To dominate for extended periods only weakens it's longevity. It becomes tiresome and boring. How could any team take pleasure from running up the score? There has to be a competition, exciting competition, that's what makes it fun and successful. Leagues must strive for parity, because if you lose ugly for too long a period, you will fold. Interest will diminish.

Please explain how winning by a large margin (that's what I wish to call it), threatens the integrity of a league. I will absolutely agree with you that after awhile it becomes "tiresome and boring." I don't particularly enjoy watching games like that. But, that's not to say that I believe a team should play down to their competition - ever. I hate that even more! This horse is nearly dead, but I believe that as an athlete you respect the game by playing the game, leaving every ounce of effort you can possibly muster on the playing field (or ice surface). I just take issue with you guys constantly chastising anyone who doesn't agree with your position and being so adamant (and obnoxious about it) that only the Canadian way is the right way. Then you make excuses when the Canadian Olympic team doesn't uphold the principles of the "Canadian way." It just seems that you fall on whatever the side of the fence that's best to support your position on any given day.

I DO have very strong opinions about the scholarship issue that I will refrain from addressing in this forum.

So what you're saying is that Canadian parents are cheap and willing to send thier kids to inferior schools and teams to save money.

Fine... but is it people like you that are teaching the US kids at the younger ages... If it is well....your domination of the game will surley be a long way off.

Haha, yeah, right. See you guys are all the same - OBNOXIOUS and ARROGANT! And just to qualify my statement, I'm just saying that about you guys on this forum, not about all of my Canadian friends who aren't obnoxious and arrogant.
