D3 18-19 season

Re: D3 18-19 season

If Williams and Adrian win today does that make it a 5 - 5 split between East and West teams in the NCAA's?:eek::(:o:D

Yes, technically, but you may as well call Adrian an eastern team. They can only play Elmira without flying. So we get the annual Adrian / Elmira QF and the rest of the east has to play the first round games.

Re: D3 18-19 season

Adrian and Scholastica tied 1-1 after 2.

Williams and Middlebury tied 2-2 after 2.

I believe Eau Claire needs Adrian to win, otherwise they might be on the outside looking in.

Re: D3 18-19 season

Goals coming too quick to post in Elmira. EC started the scoring building a 2-goal lead, and William Smith has managed to tie it up at 2. End of 1...

William Smith - 2
Elmira- 2

Re: D3 18-19 season

This will probably be corrected soon, but right now Eva Hendrikson is credited with both the goal and primary assist of the goal she scored! One can only dream of scoring so impressively!

Re: D3 18-19 season

Now Halloran puts Williams up 3-2 on a goal that goes in and out.

Eau Claire among those very happy right now.

Re: D3 18-19 season

Now CSS ties Adrian at 2

Colonial Hockey championship game is going to OT.

NCHA Championship going to OT. 6 seconds of 4 on 4 followed by 1:21 of a St. Scholastica PP will open that OT

Re: D3 18-19 season

Williams wins the NESCAC!

They punch their ticket and mathematically one for River Falls too.

Re: D3 18-19 season

Willliams 3 Midd 2Midd goal waved off high stick with:56 to play. Video will or won’t confirm the call. Lots of pressure on Mann and Rapin hope they were correct. That said congrats to the Ephs

Re: D3 18-19 season

So seems if Middlebury is out and last spot is either St Scholastica if they pull this out or Eau Claire if CSS loses? Either way, good news for the west!

Yes that's how I think the math will work. A St. Scholastica win bumps Eau Claire out and Adrian win puts the blugolds through

So if NCAA goes super money saving route...

First rounds

Endicott @ Plattsburgh
Norwich @ Williams

Quarters
Adrian @ Elmira
Norwich/Williams @ Plattsburgh
CSS/Eau Claire @ St Thomas
River Falls @ Hamline

Its just funny because when the WIAC pulled out of the NCHA I thought it would take miracles for them to ever get a team in...granted there are 2 more spots now, then there was back then...but never dreamed they would have a chance at 2.

Anybody missing the "what will the committee do?" speculation?

I like that it's done based on formulas and not the whim of some coaches and admins. Also, having an idea of just what a particular game will do to the NCAA picture has me watching more neutral games than ever. Before I only watched Plattsburgh, but this season especially late I've tuned in to streams from St. Thomas, Eau Claire, Hamline, Williams, Middlebury, Endicott instead of TV.

I can't speak for others but the transparency has given me more reason to watch because there's a good sense of the impact.
