Beyond the dashers lists the following commitments for 2010-2011 in the update posted 9/15/2010, but I believe they would both actually be for 2011-2012:

To Syracuse:

Laurie Kingsbury, F, Saint-Laurent [CEGEP]/Canada U-18 (Valleyfield, QC)

To Quinnipiac:

Nicole Kosta, F, Mississauga Chiefs/Canada U-18 (Mississauga, ON)

Also on the 2011-2012 commitment list updated 9/16/2010:

Shannon Stoneburgh, D, Toronto Aeros/Team Ont Red (Pickering/ON)

I was just curious. Is Laurie Kingsbury a sister or relative of Gina Kingsbury, who starred at SLU and has won two gold medals with Team Canada?

Not that I'm aware off. Gina is from Northern Quebec (born in Sask). Laurie is from Valleyfield which is just west of Montreal and has been playing in the Montreal area for quite a few years.

Well, that's who I saw as well but I didn't know the status of them. I will take your word.

There was still another player in today, I saw the name on her team coat and see that she is the leading scorer on her team but I have no idea what her status is either. I will say she traveled a long way to get here.

One has to wonder if Coach Miller suggested/ordered that she play U19 with the T'Breds instead of finishing her career with the Duluth Stars. Otherwise it seems like an odd move, considering it's a 3-hour drive to Highland Arena. I don't know the situation with the Stars however.

OR, maybe she saw an opportunity with the already proven Thoroughbred program, as a chance to continue her development as she prepares to enter a strong D1 conference.

So what I understand is Thoroughbreds who have a very good team this year led by Stephanie Anderson (U18 and committed to MN) needed a top goalie and that Turner was highly regarded. The JWHL will be a great place for her to take her game to the next level and prepare for D1 level of play in her home town. Here is current roster
