D1 Coaching Changes

That could go on the job description...Something like...

Have to been willing to perpetually compete with the tunnelers, sinners, and yuckeyes, with fewer resources and the 2nd best UMN campus

I think that's a great idea. Unfortunately the admin at UMN-D didn't think so.

It kinda sounds like a job for the muzzinator... She would already have upgraded facilities,

Not only is that true, Duluth is a great town--easily better than Columbus---and she wouldn't have to compete with football for attention and support!

Always possible but I've not heard anything explicit. Maybe she'll like wearing Dartmouth green.

Analogizing to football, I'm guessing following Stone was hardly like following Saban given the cloud Stone left under, but I don't know Harvard's program.

Cloud is a mild way of putting it. More like a firestorm. And the coverup was even worse. Alabama is one of the top power programs in the country. Harvard women's hockey was voted the worst-run program on campus in 2023. Bellamy is going to have one tall task in returning the Crimson to national prominence. It will take several years for her to build a winning culture - maybe longer and that's if she stays. The way kids transfer these days, it's harder than ever to manage continuity in a program.

Anyone hearing anything about the Boston college assistant coaching job replacing coach kennedy ?
it’s been a long long process and I wonder if the problem is a lack of interest ?

It just took BC 5 months to hire a new swim coach so read between the lines. That school is behind the times. Certinaly would not be a matter of interest as any DI hockey position has plenty of interest no matter what school.

still waiting to hear anything about the Duluth head coaching job. Radio silence.

why did Shannon Miller leave, back in the day?

Just announced Max Gavin from Dartmouth as assistant.

It's been a month, very slow process. If you google UMD women's hockey you would have no idea Crowell left. Maybe they are still in shock.

Well, they keep calling and frankly, I do appreciate the interest from Duluth but my only (very limited) coaching experience involves aggressive passing offense in football. Last time I checked, throwing the puck like a football is still not a legal move in NCAA ice hockey. A tragedy for Mike Leach acolytes everywhere.

what if they're negotiating with Muzzy and she's using that to force OSU's hand on a new arena (after she's been saying it was coming any day now since 2019)?

But seriously: I'd not be surprised if they just had Schuler stay on as interim for at least part of the next season as a trial run for her getting the permanent job? Have definitely seen that happen before. Can't imagine it'd be anything but bad for recruiting and difficult on the staff in terms of workload.

Here’s an article from 2013 talking about the need and constant talk of a new OSU ice rink.
