Cycling 2017.

Re: Cycling 2017.

Velogames is up for the Tour.

Watched the NBC preview looks like both Dumolin and Nibali are skipping the tour. In their contenders section they totally skipped over Fabio Aru, who looked good in the Dauphine to focus on Fugalsang as a contender. Really hoping for a competitive tour this year but since none of the other teams seem to have come up with a solution to deal with Sky it might be another boring domination by Froome with an occasional interesting stage, usually one that doesn't have an outcome on the overall.

Re: Cycling 2017.

Mini league if interested

League Name: USCHO
League Code: 53504965

My team
Alberto Contador Trek - Segafredo 16
Warren Barguil Team Sunweb 8
Romain Bardet AG2R La Mondiale 16
Johan Esteban Chaves ORICA-Scott 12
Peter Sagan Bora - Hansgrohe 22
Tony Martin Team Katusha - Alpecin 8
Cyril Lemoine Cofidis Solutions Crédits 4
Thomas De Gendt Lotto Soudal 6
Robert Gesink Team LottoNL-Jumbo 8

Debated about taking Cav rather than Sagan and grabbing Quintana but I don't think Cav will be in shape. I might have taken Caleb Ewen but he's not doing Le Tour

Re: Cycling 2017.

Ok here's my team.

Ritchie Porte-22
Alberto Contador-16
Johan Estaban Chaves-12
Meintjes-10
Degenkolb-8
De Kort-4
Kwiatkowski-8
A. Lutsenko-6
F.Aru-14

I think Porte is a risk, but Froome costs too much and I wasn't thrilled with some of the other number 1's available. I think De Kort could get me some points for little cost.

Re: Cycling 2017.

NBC says you can stream all the stages at nbcsports.com I think it is. I'm hopeful Phil is not there after he got banned from Australian TV.

Re: Cycling 2017.

I'm in. Tried a new plan: pick the team as fast as I could with as little thought as possible. Now that I have finally stopped taking Little Richie P I'm sure he's going to win this thing by about seven minutes...

Alberto Contador 16
Primož Roglic 8
Johan Esteban Chaves 12
Romain Bardet 16
Peter Sagan 22
Greg Van Avermaet 8
Christian Knees 4
Koen De Kort 4
Michael Matthews 10

Re: Cycling 2017.

I went all over this place with this one....hunting stage wins more than GC contenders this year.

Ion Izagirre Bahrain Merida Pro Cycling Team 10
Primož Roglic Team LottoNL-Jumbo 8
Romain Bardet AG2R La Mondiale 16
Sergio Luis Henao Team Sky 10
Peter Sagan Bora - Hansgrohe 22
Jesús Herrada Movistar Team 8
Greg Van Avermaet BMC Racing Team 8
Thomas De Gendt Lotto Soudal 6
Johan Esteban Chaves ORICA-Scott 12

Re: Cycling 2017.

Those are some interesting picks. Sagan could really win a lot, but I'm skeptical of his teammates. I did switch from Aru to Greipel. Too many sprints to just have one sprinter. I'm surprised no one is picking Fuglsong.

Re: Cycling 2017.

I won't pick riders I hate, just to have a possibly higher scoring team. So no Froome or Porte.

Thibaut Pinot FDJ 14
Simon Yates ORICA-Scott 10
Fabio Aru Astana Pro Team 14
Johan Esteban Chaves ORICA-Scott 12
Peter Sagan Bora - Hansgrohe 22
Philippe Gilbert Quick-Step Floors 8
Marcus Burghardt Bora - Hansgrohe 4
Scott Thwaites Dimension Data 4
Arnaud Démare FDJ 12

Re: Cycling 2017.

Never done this so this could get ugly.

Geraint Thomas - Sky - 12
Simon Yates - ORICA - 10

ROmain Bardet - AG2R - 16
Johan Esteban Chaves - ORICA - 12

Peter Sagan - Bora - 22

Tony Martin - Katusha - 8
Michal Kwiatkowski - Sky - 8
Artur Vichot - FDJ - 6
Edvald Boasson Hagen - Dimension - 6

Welp, so much for Quintana's premiere mountain chauffeur as Valverde is out. And joke already going around here that Sky and its new white skin suits have mastered "Marginal Rains." Pretty sure no one anywhere believes this ****, save for maybe a couple of clowns like Matthew Syed.

Re: Cycling 2017.

I don't even know what that means.
Me either, I guess it means showers and wet roads. Those skins suits make a difference for sure. I'm just glad my guys are upright still. Sorry Valverde is out though. I like him. I did notice sky had I think three guys the top 10. makes you wonder. or maybe not.
I didn't see how Cav did.

Re: Cycling 2017.

Looks like I guessed right with Thomas. Hoping this is parlayed into a yellow jersey for a couple days like Martin a few years back. Hoping, but not optimistic.

Got lucky with Thomas. Was actually hoping for Martin today. Worked out well. For now.

Re: Cycling 2017.

This may refer to the new skinsuits that Team Sky was wearing that they got from the Norweigan ski team that lowered wind resistance by 38% or something like that. Basically an advantage a big $$ team has over the smaller teams. Basically Tony not winning and holding the jersey for a few day probably makes my pick of him worthless unless he darts out in front to gain some seconds in the next week or so.

Boy the analysis is bad to listen to Bobke and Christian since Froome gained so much time, the race is almost over.

Specialized sells a skin suit. it's about 500 dollars. i guess it's worth it, just not to me..

I know it's only one stage but to me Sagan looked a little off today and uncharacteriscally sat up in a misstage sprint and at the end of the stage today too. Hope it's just a one day thing and he rebounds or is saving energy.
