I think the Covid vaccines in the US are far more effective than any flu vaccine, but otherwise I agree. Vaccines aren't meant to be prophylactic. They do have a lot of that in them, but the goal is and has always been to reduce severe illness and death. As an ancillary benefit, they substantially reduce transmission and depending on the target, can effectively eradicate them with enough uptake.


But we see those ancillary benefits as being the only benefits, unfortunately.

Is the next “pandemic” also going to be one that you have no idea that is going on in the real world? So it will need a 24/7 marketing campaign, non stop coverage on Fascist propaganda programs like the view, mass testing of healthy people with no symptoms.

Got the updated Covid vax yesterday. Sore at the injection site was the worst of it. Went to Walgreens and they were booked up through this week.
 
So interesting watching Bill Maher fellate Ron Desantis on Friday over his handling of Covid. While in parallel I am in a Zoom meeting with someone who accidentally infected their dad with Covid (did not realize he had picked it up before being with his family) and his Dad is in the hospital.

Fuck all you deniers and morons.
 
Back to work today after a three-week vacation. In the office today so I went to out in-office health center and got my flu shot. They don't have the new COVID vaccine; the nurse told me that there are some distribution issues at CVS, Walgreens, etc. Anyone have any issues with no availability? I actually prefer not getting them at the same time so I'll check around.
 
It’s tough in places like the twin cities where people have brains and have demand for vaccine, Boston will be same.

Had no issue because I went first day available given I needed it asap. I imagine it will get better quite soon
