COVID-19 The 7th Part: We're Gonna Be Number One Soon!

Nonsense. Compare North and South Dakota. Single digit deaths in each. Total hospitalizations that number 40 or 50. Yet SD has something like triple the number of cases, and is currently the hotspot baby of panic media. That is 100% the result of aggressive testing by Smithfield. If they hadn’t done that South Dakota would be as ignored as North Dakota.

You were moaning about how we all “forgot” this was an essential business and they would have been open anyway. My point was that it’s a disgrace that the state was a free for all even knowing it was a hot bed.
And someone else has already refuted your other nonsense so I’ll stop there

That's an amusing excuse for a factory that was forced to close due to COVID19. Good for you for coming up with it and somehow believing it.

Unless you are actually suggesting that active and aggressive testing is worthless- given how it's turned out. Which would be even more amusing.

SD would be ignored if they were not shutting down food processing plants due to poor response to a pandemic. And the management of Smithfield having the balls to warn people that the food sources are under threat.

Pull your head out of your *****, man. SD and Smithfield screwed up, and now the country gets to suffer for it.

Regarding death rates outside of 1st world countries (and even in them to some extent) : https://twitter.com/BNODesk/status/1250949308146384901

I'm sure we'll hear all kinds of creative reasons why their deaths are so high just when a pandemic is crossing the globe

EDIT: Bah, thought it would show automatically. Ecuador's Guayas province reported 6,700 deaths from all causes in the first half of April, their average is 1,000. Offically 168 people have died of COVID there.

We’re going to kill a lot more soon. Death cult knows he can’t win re-election if the economy isn’t hopping.
Dead people don't vote. Dead people do, however, have to boost the economy by being embalmed, cremated and buried. I somehow don't think that will make up for the workers and spenders who will be out of commission or dead

It really astonishes me that people still don't get how fast this escalates. How many people are going to type or say this same thing and believe they are special and won't be touched? My State was aggressive and we had single digits not that long ago. We lead the country in testing. Yet here we are with single digit deaths far in the rear view mirror. Obviously learning from watching others before you is not an art many people have.

And wasn't someone starting the next thread for the believers so ours isn't clogged with foolishness. All us commies really need a special place to congregate and act intelligent in peace

It’s all over my next door feed. People think they’ll be fine , and that we’re worse off staying home. This as more reports come out about the severe damage to multiple organs.
I’ve never, ever wanted two nations as much as right now. Let the imbeciles congregate down south and let the rest of us be far, far away

All. Of. This.

I was likening this to trying to give someone the diagnosis of Diabetes. You tell the person the facts. You get met with denial- no way, not me!!! I am not like other people! then (if you are lucky) they go thru a phase of trying to do everything right like it will make it go away. Then, as it wears on, disbelief they have something that they need to change their life for- No way anyone can expect they will have to change like this for a sustained period of time- it isn't fair, no once can expect them to adjust, there has to be a better answer someone isn't telling them, or the bad stuff people threatened won't reallybe that bad. Followed by testing behaviour that hopefully doesn't result in a really bad outcome. Only usually that self destructive stuff affects just the patient. This is killing a lot of people.

Spent the day fielding messages from people trying to get me to tell them it is OK to do unwise things because, well, no one should expect anyone to tolerate this for so long.

I really, really wish I could be ignorant and not understand the implications of what is happening. Then I could afford the luxury of denial and not feel like I needed to be responsible all the time. :(

Re: COVID-19 The 7th Part: We're Gonna Be Number One Soon!

We camp but have a pop up...was wondering if they would only allow self contained / RV types? Bet Maine wont be far behind? Am getting emails from the places we normally go up there..

I am a seasonal camper in Stonington CT where there are zero cases. We usually open on May 1, we are delayed until at least May 20 per Governors order. I spoke to them today and they are more concerned about the communal spaces, bathrooms, pools, rec halls, etc. Our campground is approx. 3/4's transient campers and it is closed to them until 5/20 at least as well.

Does a state need to join with other states in deciding when to re-open if the state never closed?

So it isnt ok to say that opening up schools is "an appetizing opportunity" due to the 2-3% mortality rate?

Here is an idea...SHUT THE **** UP YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF CRAP!

It is an enticing thought that they find a way to put a nice stamp on their foreheads that have a bug red V (for vent) with a circle and line thru it. Don't waste resources on the numbuts.

Check back in two weeks with how well it's going.
