COVID-19 The 7th Part: We're Gonna Be Number One Soon!

Re: COVID-19 The 7th Part: We're Gonna Be Number One Soon!

We are really seeing how the skyrocketing aggregate of stupidity in this society is affecting us all. We are a much dumber country now than we were 2 or 3 generations ago. Were we at the same level of intelligence now as we were then, we may just have weathered this thing like it WAS a mild flu season, because most of the country would have been doing what we needed to do on February 10th instead of April 1st. And many more of us would have been heeding the warnings of the health care professionals who KNOW what they are talking about. And as a consequence, we would have seen thousands of fewer deaths, AND we would be getting back to normal a lot sooner. Hunkering down in February and March is a lot less of a stretch for most people than hunkering down still in May and June.

I don't get all the fuss. It appears things were way overblown, since the death count is trending significantly below predictions. Them's facts.

Three generations ago, this country wasn't just a bunch of nancies.

I missed it. I apologize.

Sorry Burd.

I'll go sit for two minutes and feel shame.

No need, aparch. It was lame sarcasm and I'm not given to emoticons.

Btw. Dumbazz would be more fitting than son of a *****.

Can't tell if this is sarcasm, or you're being serious.

The incredibly frustrating part about this sarcasm is how many people actually believe it. Starting with the moron who somehow got elected to be the president.

Not once did he want to distance, I'm not sure how he was manipulated to actually admit that it needed to happen, but every time he says that we must do X, the very next day, he starts to undo the X.

Even worse, all of the actual orders that have gone out to reduce the spread are from the governors. And this moron is taking credit for all of the effort that he didn't even want to do.

Add to that, his lemmings who are still convinced this is a hoax.

(which is a very long way of understanding how aparch really went off... lots of facts piling onto the idea that this is going to be a multiple hump solution.)

On a more optimistic note, had a global meeting for my company this morning- they are taking the restart very seriously WRT exposing people. Like if there's any possibility that you can work from home, you will for a very long time. While there are aspects of my job that I really do need to be present- the ideas that my small group have come up with reduces that a lot. I really expect that I won't have to be at work, personally, for another 2 months. But I'll have work to do.

Even better- the reduction of our sales isn't nearly as bad as expected, and we are much better than last month. Inventing new ways to sell the product. Pretty neat.

I enjoy the frequent misunderstandings of burd's sarcasm. It is why I keep one of my favorite lines of his in my sig.

Re: COVID-19 The 7th Part: We're Gonna Be Number One Soon!

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died
...
And everybody knows that the Plague is coming
Everybody knows that it's moving fast
Everybody knows that the naked man and woman
Are just a shining artifact of the past
Everybody knows the scene is dead
But there's gonna be a meter on your bed
That will disclose
What everybody knows
And everybody knows that you're in trouble
Everybody knows what you've been through
From the bloody cross on top of Calvary
To the beach of Malibu
Everybody knows it's coming apart
Take one last look at this Sacred Heart
Before it blows
And everybody knows

Re: COVID-19 The 7th Part: We're Gonna Be Number One Soon!

Yeah, about that....

Some of you may recall that I posted my mother's stepbrother was in an ICU. He was sedated, so his family gave permission to use Hydroxychloroquine experimentally. After that, the ventilator burst his lung (they were having to use too much pressure to keep his O2 levels up). He had surgery for that 11 days ago. A week ago, he got a plasma transplant from a family friend who had recovered from Coronavirus, and he made a marked improvement within 24 hours so that he needed less pressure and less purity to maintain O2. They've been trying to ease him off of the sedation ever since then in preparation for removing the ventilator entirely, but every time they back off on the sedation, he has severe heart arrhythmia and his O2 crashes so they have to crank up the sedation and the ventilator again. Guess what is a key side effect of hydroxychloroquine?

He's now been under sedation for 16 days and counting.

Thanks, Trump!
