Re: COVID-19 The 7th Part: We're Gonna Be Number One Soon!

A few Michigan Republican reps are already crying that Whitmer is too radical and she's taking away our FREEDOMS.

I forget... taking away freedom is only bad if a Democrat does it.

I've been tracking Michigan data and think we are starting to see the shelter in place working. Did we have a lot of new cases today? Yes, but the number of new cases has gone down the last 2 days. Hopefully this trend holds. It's at least good to not see it growing exponentially. Then again, I don't know how many tests are being done, and that the data isn't just a reflection of fewer tests.

Keep Kepler back - I’m sure she doesn’t need mouth-to-mouth yet....

MI testing data is here https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/0,9753,7-406-98163_98173_99225---,00.html

It's down significantly from last week.

CO spiked in new cases today, but per CDPHE it's a chunk of old data that just got turned in - new hospitalizations are trending down and the curve is starting to flatten.

There are people outside, but it's been sunny and 75 and they for the most part are practicing distancing. Supposed to be blah with snow showers this weekend - hopefully keeps people in. (This is the first and last time you will see Mr. #300daysofsunshine encourage snow.)

Watch new hospitalizations and new deaths, those aren't as prone to noise and they tend to be lagging indicators of cases that already happened.

A little hint...when you are on the same side as Laura Ingraham just quit. And if you honestly buy the tripe she says...well...I have a bridge to sell you in NY...CHEAP!

Re: COVID-19 The 7th Part: We're Gonna Be Number One Soon!

I guess this is what happens when you’re only worth 3 points in the Electoral College...

The state is looking to local, state, federal and international partners “to obtain more personal protective gear as well as more testing” after requests for federal help fell short of goals, Alaska’s top medical officer said Wednesday.

Alaska requested nearly 140,000 face shields and got a little over 6,000, according to a presentation by Dr. Anne Zink, the state’s chief medical officer. The state asked for more than a million gowns and got a little more than 9,400.

The state requested more than 3.1 million N-95 respirators and got a little more than 175,000.

“We haven’t gotten all of those,” Zink said during a media briefing Wednesday night.

3 points and not a swing state. It's your fault for dressing that way.
Carhartts and duct tape?

BTW, Dr. Zink is about the only thing holding this together up here. It’s absolutely stunning that she, a Republican appointee from the same place as Sarah Palin, is leading a competent response AND getting a Trumptard of a Governor to go along.

They must have forgotten about the Flu...ya know I hear the flu is much worse than COVID.

But......but.......the car accidents. So many people die in car accidents every year, and no one whines about making cars safer.....

Oh, wait.
