5 weeks in and I still shower, apply deodorant, keep my beard trimmed, and otherwise "hygiene" every morning. Does that mean I'm not a nerd, or am I just a functional nerd? ;)

You're someone who actually takes care of themselves. :p

I haven’t shaved in three weeks. I refer to my boxers and white t-shirts as ‘work clothes’; casual Friday usually entails only half that. I make a hall of fame effort to shower every morning but bat around the Mendoza Line*. I gave up combing my hair for Lent but haven’t seen a reason to go back. My Fitbit stopped asking if I want to go for a walk.

I can’t imagine what I’d look or smell like if I wasn’t married.

(But I still brush my teeth twice a day, because gross)

*Edit: I should clarify, I have taken a shower every morning 95% of the time for years. Now it’s randomly every two days. Usually in the evening.

I maintain, but admit I might shave a little less. I have a beard to begin with, so it's not THAT big of a difference. There might be a Sunday in there where I know I'm not leaving the apt, so I just move from my bed to my couch, make it a true lazy Sunday. Overall, I thrive on routine, and so routine is the route I take.

But things are so safe we can go to the movies again!

Pretty much every day: get up, stationary bike, breakfast, shower, get dressed, work from home. I only shave once or twice a week anyway, so that hasn’t changed.

I have a feeling my beard experiment is coming to an end in the next week. Plus we’ve made a commitment to start working out together. This is the first time since my illness where I’ve felt my fitness level decline. Which is kind of a dark road that leads back to fat dx.

It’s been hard because we don’t do in-person grocery shopping like we used to. Being able to wander through the produce section and stock up. I miss that so much.

We’re going to be hopefully putting in a vegetable garden this summer. Might not get a lot this year obviously, but it will pay dividends in future years. Homegrown herbs, garlic, chilis, cucumbers (pickles!), carrots, and who knows what else. Love making homemade raspberry tea with my mom’s fresh raspberries, so maybe we’ll do a raspberry bush too.

I’ve thought about starting to essentially treat the days like I’m going into work to start with that mindset. Might get more done.

If you get some extra chilis, I would be interested in discussing a transaction....

I am purposefully growing my beard out...want to see how Jew I can look I guess :D

Shower and do some exercise every day. Working on projects too. Building a makeshift humidor since apparently I like cigars now out of nowhere.

Oh and I am taking two classes and "teaching" 5

Go for the hair. Take the Rob Tyner Challenge.

Must be fun. I’m still going to work every day at 6 am.

Yep. That's how I feel :p

Same morning routine as always. Only difference is that I'm not stopping for breakfast anywhere. Out the door at 5:40am every Sat-Tue

Which half?

It's interesting to hear about people starting "Victory Gardens"- which is happening all over the place. I've been gardening for a while now- but for the taste of fresh veggies and fruit.

Assuming that you don't have challenges like invasive trees and their nasty roots, look up "no dig" gardening. It has the bonus of being incredibly high yield with the need of lack of work to the soil. Being lazy pays off! And if you have not started one, start composting immediately- make it so that you can have two or three piles so that they "ripen" at different times. And look into making a worm bin.

Also, try to figure out what kind of soil you have for your favorite perennial fruit. I tried raspberries and blueberries- and only the raspberries worked. Now they are spreading all over a controlled space to great yield, too.

It's a great way to spend some time.

Re: Covfefe-19: We Can Handle Slight Inconveniences. Part 8.

Finally convinced my wife to take the dog clippers to my hair last night. I was juuuust about to get a haircut when everything shut down, so boy did I need it. So much better today!

Re: Covfefe-19: We Can Handle Slight Inconveniences. Part 8.

I've been dressing nice, putting on makeup, etc, just to have a sense of routine. I have class tonight, so I want to look nice for my Zoom session.

Re: Covfefe-19: We Can Handle Slight Inconveniences. Part 8.

We too have been trying to keep to a similar routine... even though working mostly form home and kids doing virtual learning, we are mostly getting up and starting our day the way we would if we were heading off to work and school. Sleeping an extra 45 min to an hour but not much more than that. It would definitely not be good for me to fall into the "pajamas all day" type of routine.
