Hug someone you care about...
Just in this thread: Allen West. Herman Cain. How many SEC-region radio personalities.
Quit cheering when people get sick from a virus because they didn't alter their behavior.
It was ugly in the 80s.
It's ugly now.
What are you fucking talking about. Those people CHOSE to ignore health guidelines. Caine went to an indoor Trump rally in Oklahoma, even posting pictures talking about it. (not wearing a mask correctly AND mocking the Pandemic IIRC) The radio people are actively undermining vaccines, masks and anything the medical community says to thousands of listeners who are fucking dying. Allen West (who advocated for seceding cause Trump lost) is running for governor and wants to end all mandates in schools. All of them refused to get the vaccine, wear masks or not congregate indoors in big groups despite scientific evidence telling them how it would play out. Then they advocate for quack cures proven to be ineffective which puts those supplies in danger. (Hydrox is used for seizure disorders and fucknut Republicans horded it so now they can't get it) Ivermectin doesn't even treat the right type of disease let alone COVID itself. Everyone knows that, they don't care because it makes them look better to pretend they are fighting for non-existent freedoms.
THAT IS NOT THE FUCKING SAME AS WHAT GAYS WENT THROUGH WITH AIDS!
AIDS had no vaccine. AIDS had almost no research done (cause Saint Ronny believed in the Lord...lying fucking coward) which exploded the pandemic. No one knew how it spread, where it came from or how it destroyed the immune system. Even when they were calling it GRID it was showing up in other communities. Much like now, a certain political party with real Right Wing views felt it wasnt needed for the medical establishment to be able to deal with any of this. (ask The CDC and Don Francis, or read his book/watch the movie) Much like early in this pandemic those people gambled that since it wasn't them getting sick they could ignore it...and turned it into an epidemic that still exists today in almost every country on Earth.
See in one case (AIDS) people didn't have a choice. By the time they found the retrovirus and created a test AIDS was in the blood supply and was running rampant on at least 3 continents. (likely 4-5) Then everyone who got it was shamed even though they may have had it for YEARS. (or got it from a transfusion like Ryan White) If a vaccine had been available there would have been lines around the block to take it. They were taking experimental drugs because nothing else was available. Even today there is no cure (though there is promising stuff) but they have to take a pretty intense cocktail of meds to keep going.
In the other case, even after experts found a way to create multiple vaccines and had guidelines in place that already fucking worked a certain political party with Right Wing values decided that since their President was no longer in charge they weren't going to take the vaccine or wear masks. They didn't make it just personal though, they spread misinformation they knew was lies and fought hard to make sure anyone who wanted to die could. They purposefully put everyone in harms way and begged to get sick. NOT THE FUCKING SAME THING!
You are equating two things that are so fucking different either you have no comprehension skills at all or are fucking trolling.
If someone drives their car at night and accidentally skids out and crashes causing harm or death that is a tragedy. If they are doing a NASCAR impression whipping shitties all over the place at ridiculous speeds and playing chicken with the other cars weaving in and out...then they fucking brought it on themselves.
