That would describe most of the rest of the world. The US is pretty uniquely loaded with selfish a55holes.

271. 20% are good, 10% are bad, the other 70% are morally passive and will go with whichever side controls the center.

We are emerging from a time when the 10% controlled the center. Painfully slowly. But little by little we are putting the f-cks to rout.

What I find interesting about Sweden is that a huge part of the population actually seems to be taking their guidelines (not regulations) seriously. I have a couple friends around Stockholm and they said most people wear masks, restaurants are at greatly reduced capacity and still mostly empty. People are complying with the mere recommendation to stay home. Strict rules should be enforced unfortunately, but even with the virtual non-existent extra rules, a significant portion of the population is acting appropriately.

Meanwhile, we can't even get people here to provide guidelines in many states.

I was flying through Arlanda on my way to Kiruna last month and about 25% of people were wearing masks in the airports, despite there being signs requiring them. This was right before they started to implement additional measures but I was surprised by how few people wore masks in the airport and nobody ever wore them anywhere else during the week I was up there.

So Northeastern shut until MidDecember because they have a bunch of teams quarantining- add that to VT. ProViCID has been shut down 3 times and half their team has already tested positive. And who does our AD backfill the schedule with when NU pulls out? Providence. You have fvcking got to be kidding. The league doesn't have a mandatory face covering- up to each team. Hockeyleast is truly outdoing itself in attempting to do it wrong. Trying to decide if I move out of the bedroom for the next 14 days- because Provicid is really working on the principle of trying to have herd immunity.

I have a confession to make. Masks do work.

You cant "take action against a pandemic".

Lockdowns work. Their goal is to delay the spread. Not stop it. Spread is inevitable.

Masks also work. Their purpose is to placate terrified Covid-Zombies. They serve as placebo and give them illusion of control over the uncontrollable.

Last week, Illinois reported 15,415 cases in a single day, more than Florida ever did in a single day. This is despite Illinois' population being 40% lower.

Funny no one here is keeping daily tabs on Illinois like they were Florida.

Keep up the good work.

If this is what it is in Canada, I can only imagine what it is in the Land of Adult Children
  • A critical risk factor for Covid-19 mortality is obesity. According to a recent Canadian poll, the Covid-19 response of governments in Canada has resulted in 32% of Canadians reporting weight gain.
  • First peer-reviewed meta-analysis capturing 399,461 Covid-19 pts globally found: people with obesity contracting SARSCoV2 were 113% more likely to be hospitalized than ppl of healthy weight, 74% more likely to be admitted to ICU & 48% more likely to die
  • People with obesity also at incr risk of all causes of death, hypertension, dyslipidemia, T2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, gallbladder disease, cancers, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, mental illness—but govts assure us their catastrophic lockdowns are for our “health”

That’s what happens after too many meatballs and pickled herrin.

But really, no. Nordic countries are not full of anti science loonballs

They've got their share of right wing racists so I assume they have all the other accoutrements of "conservativism." Far fewer than here as few countries outside the Middle East have our insane fundy contingent. But it's the same people: whether they wear towels or MAGA hats, it's the same amygdala fear and stupidity.

Ummm...uhhh...hmmmm...

Mink infected with a mutated strain of COVID-19 in Denmark appear to be rising from the dead, igniting a national frenzy and calls from local officials to cremate mink carcasses.

While the sight itself is certainly terrifying for the residents of West Jutland, a region of the country grappling with confirmed COVID-19 cases connected to mink, there is likely a scientific explanation for the zombie-like reemergence from their graves.

Zombie minks rising from graves...you win 2020!!

(yes I read what is causing it but still!)

Gosh, I’d love for church goers who go to church in pandemic now, knowing what we know, and get covid to have to quarantine in the church and only get medical care from god .

our doctors and nurses deserve better than these people . Quite frankly they deserve better than all the idiots traveling this week too.

I think that was the most worse thing and my store of drug rug has been affected the mist in that situation and that not the good thing for me.And I also understand that other people are also affected with that.

How psychotic do you have to be to dismiss 2300 deaths *in ONE day* with a hand wave and "well, they were meant to die anyway."
