Sorry, didn't mean that was out of pocket, just what is billed. Fortunately, we have good insurance so that number is basically meaningless other than the shocking amount of the billing amount.

Oh thank god. I don’t know how to even think about $15k/yr every year.

I hit my deductible every year and I hate it. I can’t even imagine having to make those tough decisions if I didn’t have a good job and good insurance.

SD gov won’t discourage people to stop mixing households on thanksgiving.

osterholm just said it’s profoundly dumb. What does he know

the dakotas are an embarrassment

The South Dakota governor is a fvcking psychopath. Not surprising because the traits of a successful politician overlap those of your garden variety psychopath.

So I heard this on CNBC yesterday, and I'm sure our resident Anti-Maskers will have thoughts to share with fancy infographics from Minnesota that aren't relevant, but a *County-by-County* breakdown was studied in Kansas when a state wide mandatory mask order was put in place. Counties were able to, and did, opt out of the mandate.

What was found was that there was a 100% increase in Coronavirus cases in counties who opted out. There was a six percent reduction in counties that followed the mandate. Yes, there was *increase* in Coronavirus state wide (in both counties with and without the mandate) but a dramatic reduction weeks later in the counties that followed the mandate after the virus worked through it's incubation period with less hosts to spread to (thanks to the masks).

So I'll be dammed, masks work. Who'da thunk it?

Meanwhile the US had just under 2k deaths yesterday and the most in a week since the first week of May when NY and NJ were still trying to figure things out. The 7-day average for the US is at 1,474 the highest since May 18th. The U.S. is on pace for 320k dead by EOY if that doesn't come down.

They were all sick and old and gonna die anyway.

Besides, it wasn't the Covid that killed them, it was the diabetes, or heart disease, or high blood pressure. Covid had nothing to do with it.

Seeing as 90% of the population is right handed, that means that 90% of the COVID deaths were due to being right handed....
Seriously, today’s Bangor Daily has an article about the rapid increase in daily COVID admissions at the local hospitals. But the “dumbpers” won’t wear the masks. My daughter is an RN at a hospital and right in the thick of it. Her stories at night, while respecting HIPA, are scary, and sad. Bottom line, she wishes she could lead them through the COVID ward for a glance at what THEY are causing. Being in very rural Maine should be a buffer, but the idiots continue to scoff, and now we pay.
I don’t wish death on anyone, but........

Funny, but I could speak to a dozen of my union members, spin a tale about right-handedness being a causal factor in covid, and I guarantee at least 2 or 3 would walk away believing it. I couldn't use fancy words like "causal" though.

She would be sorely disappointed at how little it would do. Everything in this country is made into something political, and no one is changing their minds about anything they THINK is political. My guess is she could lead a thousand covid deniers through and 990 of them would still believe it is a hoax, or at the very least has nothing to do with the person needing a tube shoved down their throat and hooked to a machine to breathe.

You're a better person than me. I wish it on anyone who denies the seriousness of this pandemic. They are responsible for people dying needlessly. And 8 months in they can't say they didn't know. I'll grant people that in March, or even May. Not now. It has run through the entire country, more than once. No one can possibly claim they didn't "know." They chose not to believe, or worse, decided not to care.

All the best to your daughter though. I hope she is able to stay safe, both physically and emotionally, until this pandemic is under control.

When one group of people is killing another group of people and everyone in the second group knows it isn't justified because they are doing nothing to invite or cause the death being directed at them, is violence towards the first group NEVER justifiable? Asking for a few hundred thousand innocent victims of mass murder.

Since this is a college hockey board (hockey??!!) so far HE 'postponed' the UNH game with BC because of an inconclusive test, PC has been shut down twice, VT is shut down until mid Dec. Have heard rumors of other 'events'. Every Gov has begged for people to stay home. New restrictions re being able to go in between States.

Wondering just what it will take for people to stop treating players and staff like expendable serfs.

Revolution, unfortunately.
