Apparently gazelka flew to Florida Monday. He also became symptomatic Monday. It’s not clear if he flew while symptomatic.

Good he can stay in the COVID Paradise and never come back.

I told you all when the MNGOP decided not to fight Walz that Gazelka knew someone who had it. Yeah...himself. Karma is a bich baby!

Like all GOP scumbags, he’ll recover and use it against the response because god hates us.

Or he will get real sick and post 12 tweets on Twitter about it and then ask for everyone to "take it seriously" and then when he gets called out it is the Left's fault for being intolerant.

How much is it costing us to not do anything? How much has it cost to treat all those people in hospitals, the medications and equipment we've needed, the lost hours of productivity for sick or dead, or quarantined workers? How much has insurance been stuck paying for their treatment? How much are the long term costs of being sick?

As usual with Republicans, they'd rather not do anything at the moment because "it'll cost too much" but by putting it off or prolonging it, it ends up costing far more in the long run.

25 states have new highs in hospitalizations. Half the fucking country...but yeah...we should just open up.

Exactly.

hovey already explained the R mindset- not their job to try and prevent anyone from getting sick. Public health is nothing but an intrusion into liberties.
in fact, for them it’s ok to expose other people knowingly

Conservatives are getting their hero montages ready. All the people who die in the next six weeks so all Americans can shop and see their families for the holidays.

less people in line for the vaccine, too. Win win!

And then they'll beech and moan because taxes will have to go up to pay for all the damage this virus has caused for the country.

If 250k people died in car accidents, there would be congressional investigations.

Not in 2020 they wouldn't. This and the other things you cite started getting fixed generations ago, and 90% of the work was done then. In 2020 one half of the people in this country willfully deny that experts exist and know more than they do. In the 1950s and 1960s when the push to make our cars safer was gathering steam, people listened. Not all of them, but most of them, enough of them. We live in a different space now.

Frankly, the people who are denying the seriousness of covid, or deny that wearing a mask helps, or prevent us from formulating policies and practices that will keep our healthcare workers and our teachers safe are enemies to this country. People are dying because of it and when I think of people killing innocent Americans I think to myself "don't we usually wage war on those people?" Yes. Yes we do.

I think the economic impact, certainly worldwide, is in the trillions by the end of this. Here, probably large fractions of a trillion.

Whitmer drops the banhammer on everything.

"Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has announced an epidemic order for 3 weeks, starting this Wednesday. In-person learning for high schools and colleges are halted. Indoor dining, theaters, stadiums, organized sports (except pros) are no longer open."

College sports that can show high level of protocols (i.e. Big Ten and MAC) can play.

GOP in Michigan is already coming out how this is Whitmer doing it all by herself and and they're "disappointed" she's ignoring the legislature. Of course, what they've put forward were weak benchmarks for decisions to be made locally.

You'd think someone would pay attention to the fact that large amounts of Veterans are dying from outbreaks. But that would also mean that this administration actually gives a crap about vets.

I only care about Veterans who don’t die from Covid.
