Covfefe-19 The 12th Part: The Only Thing Worse Than This New Board Is TrumpVirus2020

Staying home with only your immediate family for once is not a sacrifice. At least to me. Jeez. Though I get it when family is far apart. My family is all here, driving distance, with the exception of my brother who lives in LA. He wants to come home for Christmas. We never see him on Thanksgiving. Or Easter. It's not that big of an issue to us. For Thanksgiving, we usually go to my cousin's because her son's birthday is around that time. As is her brother. He lives in NYC. Not sure if they're coming up. I'd be OK if they stayed there. And I'm thisclose to asking my brother to not make the trip this year. I told him he has to get tested prior to making the trip and when he's here, he's not going out to catch up with friends. I told my mom he's not staying with her and my aunt. He can stay with me, but even I'm really nervous about that. And if he doesn't come, he doesn't come. I have no problem with a quick turkey dinner at my mom's with just her and my aunt. I have no problem driving to my cousin's to do a drive by happy birthday out in their yard. I have no problem doing a quick outside visit at my brother's on Christmas Day. Do it this year so next year we can all have a somewhat normal holiday season.

Follow the Science masks work and keep you super duper safe.

France's mask-mandate insanity:
7/20 - all public indoor spaces, enforced w/fines
8/9 - outdoors / cities
8/18 - all workplaces
8/27 - pedestrians & cyclists / cities

And yet, over 45,000 cases yesterday alone. This is the equivalent of 225,000 in the U.S.

Because masks work!

There might not be anybody left alive in Wisconsin by Thanksgiving to travel out of state. The numbers here are eye-popping, scary and sad. Rolling 7 day average of 4000 cases a day and a 24.5% positivity rate, plus 28 dead daily and more people hospitalized than at any other time during the pandemic. Ohio, with twice the population of Wisconsin is seeing rolling averages of 2800 cases and 13 dying daily.

I wear a mask, avoid unneeded trips, stay completely away from large indoor crowds and physically distance myself when I was around others and I still have COVID-19 So some people say "see, even if it isn't a hoax, what are you gonna do?" Well, you're a stunningly stupid idiot if that's your takeaway. The problem is so many other people did not do what I and others knew to do. The ONLY reason this is as bad as it is (and it is going to get much, much worse between now and the end of the year) is because 20-30% of people won't do the right thing. In some places, like Wisconsin, that number is closer to 50%. We are fvcked, but not because we CAN'T do anything. It is because a large enough minority of the people in this country WON'T do anything.

I'd like to start a group, modeled after the Westboro Baptist church, and protest at funerals of COVID-19 deniers who end up dying of COVID-19. They need to know they got exactly what they deserved.

I see the same old nursing home line continues to get mileage. Has anyone who uses that line actually researched the *why* behind that decision? My understanding is the states hands were forced because of the archaic rules behind Medicare and Medicaid funding. To separate elderly Covid patients from those locations would have required a change in status and funding from those agencies.

But hey, it's just easier to blame the governors, eh?

I hope everyone is enjoying how a Plutocratic Government protects you from a Pandemic. Cause that's what we're all experiencing. But, hey, if you're rich you're good. And that's all that has ever mattered. Capitalism for the win.

we've seen all sorts of breakdowns of COVID deaths by race, age, gender, comorbidities, state and some other factors. I'd like to see it by income as well, because maybe that might move the needle with one or two good ole boys who don't really care if some black man in Milwaukee or Detroit or Philly kicks. Since too many of the good ole boys only care about is their white Christian brethren, maybe seeing how many of their impoverished neighbors have suffered would do the trick.

For everyone thinking they’re doing the right thing by not traveling, please also consider getting some test kits for yourself if you plan to see parents/other family members you don’t live with, esp if your gathering can’t be outside.

I got this from my parents. Their neighbor just died because he got it from his kids. Reducing your gathering size isn’t enough if you don’t know for sure that no one there has it.

I really don’t understand why people can’t just be with the people they live with this year. It sucks, but it’s better than people getting sick and/or dying. It’s really frustrating that people can’t make the most minor of sacrifices.

Welcome to the United States of America.

Welcome to the United States of America.

You hit the nail on the head CupCake. The land where no one is able to take care of themselves and we are banking on everyone taking care of everyone else. Have a good time depending on everyone for your well being.

This ain't good. A nation with over 40% obesity and 10% severe obesity.

Obesity correlates with a dulled immune response to COVID-19, and researchers worry that it might also blunt vaccine efficacy too.

Not to mention a vaccine that won't be that effective anyway because its a Corona Virus.

But Fauci and Friends love you and want you to be safe.

Sacrifice is for suckers and losers.

No, but Jebbers has undoubtedly spent a lot of time contemplating whether or not the cute receptionist at his office would like some.

I figured jeb2020 to be an incel. Wouldn't he wet himself if he tried to talk to an actual woman?

And once again, kudos to USCHO for the one improvement in this forum, the revamped "ignore" function. How many people here actually can even see the stool samples he posts? I picture him throwing a tantrum because noone will listen to him. And I laugh and laugh and laugh at the image.
