2 students now, apparently. And any other students in the future who post stuff making the school look bad.

No Covid if there's no reporting on it.

Again, how in the hell did a scientific health problem become a political thing like this??!!?!?!!?!? People are dying because "leaders" are tying to score political points.

Every issue is political now. The right wants it that way. What I want is for people to more rapidly relocate to the states that best suit their political persuasions. We need to get on with the dismantling of America and that would help. This country is going down the tubes because the minority have far too much influence. I am tired of 35-40% of the people holding 60-65% of us hostage. Concentrate yourselves into a region and restart the confederacy. And this time I say let them go, because the sooner I no longer have to share resources or a constitution with them, the better.

So wait. Now DeWine tested negative. Uhhhh. That’s... not how PCR tests work typically. Trust the positive if you get a PCR test.

PCR often will have false negatives. There are several reasons/circumstances that can increase your risk of a false negative. For instance, a common sporadic disorder that we use PCR for is HSV encephalitis (herpes encephalitis). Often you have to test 2-3 times to get a positive result and you always trust the positive because it means you are actively detecting viral genetic material in the medium sampled. What is not well known in the medical community (and I teach all my residents this) is that if you get blood in the lumbar puncture (which can happen in a normal tap), it will almost inevitably result in a false negative.

The molecular probes used are very specific, so you are absolutely correct that when you have a positive, you can be very confident the virus is present.

Edit: Sounds like the initial reporting was wrong. https://www.npr.org/sections/coronav...he-coronavirus
First test was an antibody test according to NPR, second test x2 was PCR which were both negative. With that sequence, it is pretty hard to tell with a high level of confidence what his virus interaction has been. Antibody tests are more likely to have false positives and must be interpreted with some caution. With PCR negative x2, it is fairly likely he does not have an active infection.

...once real voting rights happen in the South, things will change...

Actually a huge issue, and not just in the south. I think we need a new, comprehensive and sweeping Civil Rights/Voting Rights Act in this country to address election shortfalls that are NOT just happening in the south. We need to address gerrymandering at a national level. We need to ensure new methods of voting that reflect a 21st century population. We must make proper funding of election logistics a national priority. This, along with real criminal justice reform, are the civil rights issues of the 21st century in fact.

Pretty much any school would have disciplined the students who sent the picture. And they would have done it for most things that make the school or the district look bad. No one I know is surprised about it that is in education.

Sadly true. There are a LOT of wonderful people teaching our children, but public schools, as they are managed by local school boards, are still the factory where they make little boxes all the same.

There are several states that seem to have major outbreaks of "unspecified viral pneumonia", coincidentally while they're telling us that COVID is totally overblown. Strange!

Dropping the snark, no one is sure what to expect in these deaths. Car accidents are down due to lighter traffic. But deferred healthcare is a real issue. Depression and other mental health issues are increasing and suicides are up. These are real problems and we kid ourselves if we brush them off. They aren't nearly as catastrophic as the plague ravaging the world, but we can acknowledge the fact that the (totally necessary) lockdowns have significant impacts on population health.

Ignoring the right wing hysteria (and their new found crocodile tears (I mean "concern") with mental health and population health), we can't stay closed forever.

The #LockdownBro’s would disagree.

TX reported 4200 COVID deaths in July. So we can assume the Nazi-run states (TX, FL, AZ, GA) have triple the reported figures. All because of reopening and then s-cking off Dump.

That's a lot of murders, even for the right.

Leading dump's base to the showers.

You missed my post yesterday- no links, though. Not only did they suspend the whistleblower student- they have threatened any others doing the same thing. Can't show bad news in schools.

I wonder if they will hide any student deaths to stay open.

The Superintendent of Schools said "wearing a mask is a personal decision and in any case there would be no way to mandate it." Which I assume means girls in that high school can go topless since there's no way to enforce a dress code.

This is why we have to root the cons out from the White House all the way down to every single elective office in the country (appointed offices will gradually follow once they are scoured out). These morons can never be permitted to endanger lives again. The entire political ideology should be put under an involuntary hold. It is by definition non compos mentis.
