Getting mine Monday along with the flu and PPSV23.
Got my Covid booster(3rd Pfizer) in the left arm and flu/PPSV23 in the right. Left arm was a little sore at the injection site and hurt a little to lift the arm. My right arm was another story. A reaction developed and my arm gradually turned red from the injection site almost all the way down to my elbow and was 'hot' and painful to the touch. Couldn't raise my arm and started a low grade fever but it all started to clear by Thur. Immune system overload the NP said when I went to see her on Tues. That and getting 2 injections in the same arm.

Last time I got the flu and pneumonia in the same arm, I regretted it for a week.

Great. It's the t-Virus.

Let me just say...after shot 2 the foggy brain was one of the worst symptoms I have had from an illness/shot in quite some time. I felt like I was going to break at some points but have enough experience to deal with it. I can only imagine what kids are going through when they experience it.

Oh and fuck Alabama.

Pfizer booster yesterday. Usual sore arm today but nothing compared to the 2nd shot which was more of an overall “blah” feeling. Stock of influenza vaccine was depleted so I didn’t double dip on the shots. Next week flu shot.

Already got flu, tried to get booster but not old enough. Thought my autoimmune disease would get me a booster but I guess not as I'm not on any biologics.(BTW,very thankful to not be on any biologics)

So, anyone can get a booster that wants one, correct? I know they're highly recommending it for people over 65+ and those with health reasons bah blah blah. I don't meet any of that criteria (I didn't last spring either, till they opened up my age group) but I should still be able to get it if I want, correct? I really want my mom to get hers first but she just got her second shingles vaccine last week and wants to wait a bit.

I’m 64 with no personal “risks”. Went to Walgreens and told them household family member was a nursing super at local Veterans home (the risk). Got the shot, no questions. Just be truthful and tell them your concerns. Appears to me if you are close in age they will booster vaccinate. If you are 30, without risks, probably will need proof. This seems to be done locally on an honor system with no verifications. Same for my wife who is 61(has valid personal health risks) but no one called her Dr to verify shot eligibility.
I initially had a concern of not wanting to take the booster over someone totally unvaccinated needing it, but, SCREW them, they’ve repeatedly had the chance by now. Too late for me to care. They can sleep in that bed they made and roll the dice..,

It's open to everyone. Almost no one asks. In some states you can't be required to provide proof.

Ethically, you should have no issues getting it. The doses need arms and you should do everything you can to protect yourself and family. Every boost is one less person to get a breakthrough. We have more than ample supply.

I don’t think the argument from WHO and other world organizations is third dose for people versus first dose for anti-vaxxers. It was third dose for people versus first dose for those in the world who want one but don’t have access to shots yet. I think the current consensus is third dose for elderly (65+), and immunocompromised. There is less consensus about third dose for otherwise healthy healthcare workers not meeting either of the first two criteria. I now have access to a third dose through my work. I’ve read the first two doses are still overwhelmingly protective from severe disease and/or death. I haven’t fully decided yet. Probably will get one just to be safe, but I understand the other side of the coin too.

Herman Cain Award nominee.

It’s unclear how Topel contracted COVID-19, but many suspect it may have been at those crowded Assembly hearings. Several people, including members of Mayor Dave Bronson’s administration, were recently infected.

Michael Chambers, a friend of Topel’s for the last 15 years, said after Topel was hospitalized, he demanded ivermectin, an antiparasitic drug not approved for COVID treatment. Doctors denied his requests, he said, which some friends blame for his death. They see the problem as the medical establishment’s refusal to treat COVID patients with drugs like ivermectin, a drug used mostly to treat conditions caused by parasitic worms. The drug generally has few side effects, but the FDA has warned of illness caused by taking high doses usually from the drug in its form designed for animals.

“We’re not talking about drinking battery acid, we’re talking about benign medical things that he wanted, that he requested,” said Chambers. “And they denied him that … And I think it’s just disgusting.”

Tots and pears. The universe is a slightly better place now
Hasn't been a great week for the conservatives in Anchorage. There was a recall election on one of the liberal Assembly Members yesterday, they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to recall her because she dared to do things like mask mandates, and the recall vote is losing by 20+ points right now.
