Other boards I am on use specific emojis or pictures...of course this fuckstick of a board (remember when this was temporary) doesn't allow emojis so that is out.

I have Drew on ignore. If he's claiming that comment was sarcastic I don't believe him. There's no applicable real life comparative for that to be taken sarcastically.

Darwinism time.
I’m done “caring” about the “misinformed”. They have had their chances and their say, now they live with their choice. Lost a job due to vax refusal? McDonald’s is hiring….
Culling of the herd of the anti’s is a good thing for future generations and future pandemics. Cold? Yes. Care? No. It’s our turn to be selfish…
Is it Cold? No. Having the inability to understand the concept of self preservation is not something you want to keep in the gene pool. I view it as self destruction of the portion of the gene pool that is willing die rather than protect themselves or others. I have zero fvcks for the people willing to put those around them at risk. I consider that being caring toward those who are in the gene pool of survival.

Can't multi-quote but have been saying for awhile- the healthcare system is going to be in crisis for a long time. For years many places underpaid, understaffed, treated people like chattel and told them to suck it up because there is someone who wants this job if you don't. Now we are seeing Capitalism at work (sorry all you folks whining about socialism and tyranny). Been a nurse since the early 80s, a Provider for almost 30 yrs before I got out and now teaching nursing. I think I can count on one hand the number of people I know who are over the age of 30, working in healthcare, that are not disgusted and want out. The young ones are almost all working Temp- lots of pay, refusal if the assignment is in places like TX, FL, or other hot spots. To a person they are disgusted with the stupid people they are expected to care for while hearing their expertise impugned, their intelligence questioned. Stupid has a loud voice and it has permeated every place you can go.

No one has enough staff. The staff left are expected to work more, work in roles they are not hired for (Nurses working as LNA as part of a double shift), expected to float to other floors to cover when their floor is understaffed... It is driving them out in droves. Staff that have been stable for 5-10 yrs are now having complete turnover or using almost all agency. Have seen this at work and also hear about it. All the Nursing programs are struggling to get folks to teach, even the elite ones.

The people who are willing to still work in the profession are going to the places that are paying more (dam Capitalism!!) and the places that are underserved, underfunded, have poor systems, are crashing. A lot of that is Orange America but a lot of it is in the places that are serving POC.

And while I am ranting- What the Fvck (??I can type the word Fuck but not W TF) is it with the knuckledragger nurses whining they have to get vaccinated? If I see one more post on FB about how it is stupid to fire people when we are short, my head will asplode! What the actual FVCK? Ethical breach. To go to school, to be hired in a patient contact position you have a boatload of required vaccines. Many places will order titers as well as requiring proof of vaccination. It is not new. If you don't have proof of titers you have to do something about it or you are unemployable. When you are caring for people, they are at your mercy. They trust you to keep them safe. If you are not willing then you don't belong there. Period. And if you are too stupid to figure that out then thank God someone has taken the choice out of your hands!!!

OK I feel better now. ::shrug::

I don't blame anyone who wants out during or after this pandemic. You have a frighteningly large population who insist they know more than you, and then demand services from you (but services their way). And then they threaten when they don't get their way.

We're a pathetic country. Covid has put a big spotlight on the lie that is "American Exceptionalism". We could have gotten through this with substantially less death and destruction. But instead, we chose otherwise.

Excellent points about Capitalism now working as it has always intended to work. It goes hand in hand with how there is no gas in England. No napkins at my Chipotle. No one to work the register. No Chips and No Fajitas either. They can't get the supplies.

Maybe it was a bad idea to let everyone merge. To only have a couple of businesses doing the work. We're all slaves to them now. Same with Health Care, right? Everything is merged to the hilt.

It is going to be bad in a lot of areas for a long time.

Seems the WHO took on what was a raging Covid inferno in Uttar Pradesh province of India. I like their approach.

Those with symptoms are tested and given medicine kits and information on quarantining and isolation, ...

Here's the curious part: Dr. John Campbell (quack factor: unknown; weigh accordingly) claims the WHO kits mentioned in the quoted story were made up of:

Paracetamol tablets [tylenol], Vitamin C, Multivitamin, Zinc, Vitamin D3, Ivermectin 12 mg [quantity #10 tablets], Doxycycline 100 mg [quantity #10 tablets]. Other non-medication components included face masks, sanitizer, gloves and alcohol wipes, a digital thermometer, and a pulse oximeter.

But the WHO recommended against Ivermectin in treatment of Covid.

Something here does not align.

PS - I have all of that kit in my house save for Ivermectin and Doxycycline (and I could have the doxycycline in an hour via my optometrist, although her first choice is amoxicillin-clavulanate, aka augmentin).

The utterly-overwhelmed Indian healthcare infrastructure looks like it was required to provide medications that had zero effect on outcomes.

https://www.statesman.com/story/news...ck/7415294002/

I can't find anywhere that says the WHO provided it, or did anything other than recommend against it. I'd file this under "idiots being idiots and then claiming victory when there was no victory".

Then again, there's this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGMX...r.JohnCampbell

I'd pretty much dismiss anything he says if he's pushing ivermectin.

Sic - I say this gently. Put down the bs right wing sites. They're poison.

So you're saying quarantining and masking work?

Re-reading the article, it isn't explicit as to who provided the "kits". It may have been the Uttar Pravesh state government. The article is not clear at all.

Each monitoring team has two members, who visit homes in villages and remote hamlets to test everyone with symptoms of COVID-19 using Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) kits. Those who test positive are quickly isolated and given a medicine kit with advice on disease management. All the contacts of those who test positive are quarantined and tested using an RT-PCR at home by a rapid response team.
