Covfefe-19 The 12th Part: The Only Thing Worse Than This New Board Is TrumpVirus2020

I'm not here with questions.

I'm here looking for a link to the original Rolling Stone (repeated by Newsweek, NYDN, Maddow) article claiming Oklahoma ERs were turning gun shot wounds away because of folks OD'd on ivermectin. (You know, ivermectin, the 2015 Nobel Prize for Medicine drug.)

Turns out it, the whole story, was hokum.

Edit: Found it mentioned here ...

ND has added a "Breakthrough" tab to its update board.

https://www.health.nd.gov/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/north-dakota-coronavirus-cases

Somebody's watching it.

Summary "Breakthrough" data from there (today):
Cases: 2213
Hospitalizations: 137 (0.062 of cases)
Deaths: 21 (0.0095 of cases)

From the rest of that site (total Covid, vax/no vax):
Cases (Positives): 119,963
Hospitalized: 4110 (0.034 of cases)
Deaths: 1564 (0.013 of cases)

I think it's important that they don't reinforce the base rate bias.

Edit: Whoa, they did a pretty good job of it
Of the 323,778 individuals who have been fully vaccinated... since 12/14/2020, 0.0423% have been hospitalized due to COVID-19, 0.683% became infected... and 0.00649% have died. In this period, 1 in 147 fully vaccinated people ahve tested positive...compared to 1 in 14 unvaccinated.

(You know, ivermectin, the 2015 Nobel Prize for Medicine drug.)

It is amazing that we could know about Covid 19 in the early 2000s (a reasonable lead time for Nobel level research prior to award), test ivermectin against Covid-19 in well controlled trials, and find how amazingly effective it is and non-toxic at effective doses so the prize could be awarded for that in 2015...

Why? The story was proven wrong and everyone except the original author has disavowed it.

Oh so you can pretend this proves ivermectin has some value on COVID even though it doesn't? Or is this like how Right Wing Twitter is using this to show that "both sides traffic in misinformation"?

You need to wait longer to copy what Right Wing Trolls are doing elsewhere...your bunk is too obviously copied from The Crazies.

Now do Remdesivir…

Isn’t penicillin an award winning drug? Lipitor? Should we try those next?

Yeah he’s really slipping. Bet the veins were popping that this story was debunked and he had to run here to talk about it and the fact it was allowed to happen means joe Rogan is a medical genius.

Are we really surprised that they laugh at other people's deaths? Look at the posting that the deniers have put out here- it's pretty sickening that they are not just OK that people die, they advocate rules to make sure even more people die.

This is hardly surprising. All it really does it take even more of the "family values" argument out of their realistic items.

Money over life- that's how they want to run this country. Even if it means that the gross majority of them will end up with neither.

I saw this in reply to one of the tweets about this:

As long as I live KO, I’ll never get this. Ever.
After 9/11, our government turned to torture. Not because it worked but because it gave people a sense of revenge. We institutionalized and validated cruelty. A generation later, after 20 years of substituting it for empathy, cruelty is a form of political expression

I hadn't thought about it like that, but yeah, that's exactly it.

The hospital further clarified.

https://www.newson6.com/story/6136a...f-viral-ivermectin-story-says-report-is-wrong
INEGRIS Hospital said in a statement McElyea is an employee of an agency that staffs emergency departments throughout the United States including several emergency departments in rural Oklahoma.

“What we can confirm is that we have seen a handful of ivermectin patients in our emergency rooms, to include INTEGRIS Grove Hospital. And while our hospitals are not filled with people who have taken ivermectin, such patients are adding to the congestion already caused by COVID-19 and other emergencies,” the hospital group said.

Rolling Stone is an abomination that causes more harm to their "cause" than they help.

That said, don't take fucking ivermectin for covid.

As I said before, the only reason I can understand why people support Trump is because he encourages them to be the worst people they can be. That it's ok to act that way. Cruel, mocking, and selfish.

And this only provides more evidence for that. What in the fuck is wrong with people?

The teenagers recovering from meth at the hospital I work at are much more effective at making disingenuous arguments than you are. When they aren’t busy breaking into your home, of course. Go back to the drawing board.
