Oh good. B117 is looking like it’s not just more contagious but deadlier as well according to the UK

^CovidZombie

You love it. You want to play Covid for ever.

Back in reality.

Wonder what your covid risk is?

We’ve tracked nearly a half million people inside & outside long term care.

Throw out the covid models… we have the real data.

Survival rate outside long term care ~ 99.86%
Under age 60 ~ 99.97%
Overall ~ 99.61%

The disease so dangerous no one knows they have it. And when they do find out, they have no symptoms and don't even have to go to the doctor.

Very scary. But don't worry there is a vaccine that doesn't even keep you from getting it or spreading to it others. Whew!!

Sigh. It was a good run, but got my first brain swab today. 18-month- old had stuffy nose and slight fever on Wednesday, but we attributed it to teething. 3 year old became stuffy Thursday night, and so far as I know, teething is not contagious.... Company protocol is that if any household member has any symptoms not attributable to another known condition (like teething), the symptomatic people have to get a negative PCR before I can return to work. So we loaded up the minivan and hit the local drive-thru and all took the swab just for completeness.

Pretty sure it’s not COVID, but fingers crossed nevertheless.

It better not be COVID.

We've run into this same thing three times. Even we (the parents) got symptoms. Negative for all three of us all three times. Keep the faith.

Of course this post really seals the deal that you totally have it. Sorry.

Sorry I don't know his name, but the dude sitting on the right on Maher talking about Covid is an idiot. Yes the elderly are more vulnerable to dying from covid, but they're far less likely to spread the virus, and the cost and impact from Covid isn't limited to just dying. It could be long-term illness, loss of income, isolation, health care costs, etc. And so while "being black" doesn't make you more susceptible, being poor certainly does and minorities do make up a large % of low income citizens. So he might be right that targeting distribution to blacks/latinos is somewhat misguided, we should be targeting those without health care and in poorer communities every bit as much as the elderly.

So how many of the CovidZombies are aware that the definition of what a “Covid Case” is, will be changing soon?

You mean the Black podcaster guy? Yeah he had some very weird takes. Some of them right mind you (about how minorities are seen as pet projects to the Left which is just another form of racism) but some of them were just...ummm...yeah.

Dude from Vanity Fair wanted to fight him on certain topics but didn't for fear of being labelled. You could see it plain as day.

He sucked. He's one of those Cato or Heritage dudes who says things like "making a big deal out of racist jokes is what is harmful in the workplace."

Reason. Nuff said.

That aint gonna help when he gets stopped late night by some white cop.

Nope exactly. He doesn't realize he is more privileged than the average Black Person. His takes aren't wrong on some things (it is more than just race that is the reason COVID is killing Blacks at high rates) but trying to filter your opinion by completing ignoring race is no better than filtering it completely based on race. He is a black LIBERTARIAN and it shows.

I know some Black People like him (though less militant) and they would say he is right in part but really his only truly valid point is White Guilt. White Guilters tend to infantilize minorities...treat them like children who can't fend for themselves and the White Savior has to help them. (see half of Hollywood films dealing with race) It is more hurtful than helpful. Beyond that though he is just shouting into the wind.

edit: and his take on how Black People aren't being mistreated by cops was bizarre...

Exactly. He had to bend himself into a pretzel to deny simple empirical data. He kept hiding behind the argument that "being black doesn't make you poor" and "being black doesn't make you high risk" but that was question begging -- of course it doesn't, but the mitigating factor of systemic racism does lead to differential outcomes and not talking about it to make racists feel less uncomfortable is no solution!

And Maher was there brainlessly cheerleading the whole time because he's mad at the Dem CA state leg because of his stupid shed. He's so tiresome.

The third guy was great, though. And the read that he refrained from talking because he didn't want to be trapped into looking like he was whitesplaining is exactly right.

How does he know that being black or Latino doesn't make you high risk, simply because of that. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't, maybe it has some effect, we don't know at this point. And yes, I'm sure being poor, and being in generally poorer health, and not having access to regular healthcare, also plays a part.

But not a lot of white folk suffering from sickle cell anemia.

He doesn't...he is just trying to be the contrarian.

Hate Maher's attitude all you want he isnt wrong about how stupid the Cali Leg is. No one seems to like the way they do things no matter where they fall on the spectrum. His privileged whining though is a bit (and by bit I mean a truckload) much.

Pivoting here is a video that makes me angry as an educator: https://twitter.com/BrendanKeefe/sta...61740459732997

I was trying to figure out if I disagreed with the panelist on Maher because of what he was saying, or because once he said he's a Libertarian that then framed my view of him. I was trying to dissociate, but it's a challenge.

Meanwhile, my work place of ~250 people has had 3 positives this month. 2 within the last week that work in the same area. Yet, I still have coworkers that pull their mask down to talk.
