It was near the Maine-NH border. Honestly our area is more or less as blue as it gets and this nonsense is going on. It really is maddening why masks aren’t mandatory. No one wants to wear them, but it’s better than lockdowns and/or mass deaths.

Is it just Rural Disease? I've noticed that posh liberal resorts and suburbs are also really weak on masks. I think people are like "it's not a city so no prob," which isn't going to help you in the bar bathroom.

Pretty much. But it can't be 120,000 nameless someones. It has to be someone you know and care about.

And even then I doubt if that really changes the Trumper's minds, unless it becomes a lot of someones for a lot of people. And sadly, the rural areas that this is now going to be devastating are spread out enough, and not populace enough, for it to have an impact on too many people.

Unless a lot of small towns in a lot of different states start seeing half their town wiped out, the Trumpers are still gonna consider it a liberal hoax, or just Hovey's "a lot of people die for a lot of reasons every year. What's the big deal"

We’ve been incredibly lucky up here overall. It seems like there has been some kind of shift in the last few weeks. Maybe I’m way off on this but it seems like a fair amount of people are definitely resentful of the protests(even though most people protesting have worn masks.)

Anecdotal evidence is obviously very unreliable, but from what I’ve seen we are setting ourselves up for major issues soon.
 
Well I am pretty sure in restaurants here they said masks were not mandatory at your table as they would kind of get in the way of eating and drinking.

I went to a restaurant and had anxiety the whole time. There is zero chance I do it again any time soon. These people are fucking stupid.

Where so I can make sure not to go there? We are heading up to the backwoods of ME soon. We were up this past week to open up and went thru an alcove of Dumpbster Fire signs. Unless things change we won't be there long enough to go out, but I am sure as fire not going anywhere near where the Dumbpsters are

I don't know why people think ANYTHING can make righties suddenly start reasoning. They are non-sentient.

Same here- tables are more than 6 feet apart, and some have plexiglass separations between booths. Masks to come in and be seated, masks to go to the bathroom, masks to leave, but not while you eat.

I'm kind of unsure about it, but I suppose if the rates in Michigan don't take a upturn, it probably is ok. Still have curbside delivery- even for retail stores- just picked up some bird seed and never got out of my car. I hope those features keep going on for a long time.

They won't. We've had someone in our group at work that was on a ventilator for 2 months. Another group had someone die a month or so ago. A week ago we added 4 new cases in our group because a bunch of people went to a party.
