Were you able to buy beer at the clubhouse before, and take it out on to the course with you? I'm assuming no. So now you're whining that you can't do what you couldn't do before, because reasons....................?

Why would you want to buy an overpriced clubhouse beer anyway? Just buy a 12 pack at the packie and stash it with your golf stuff like you used to do.

As I wrote in the very post you quoted, as well as my other posts, yes, golfers at this course have always been permitted to buy beer in the clubhouse and take it out onto the course and consume it. They've even had a girl driving around in a beer cart selling it on the course. This is not an issue with the general ability to buy and consume alcohol on the course.

Yeah, but we're not even really talking about bringing alcohol onto this course. That's prohibited at this course, and always has been.

I just find it strange.

The course has a license to sell food and alcohol on its premises, and has done so out on the course for so long as the course has been around.

So you can't take beer out onto the course? So, where you gonna drink it then? Standing around with your fellow don't give a **** if people die buddies at the beer concession. Practicing safe social distancing, I'm sure.

Ignoring the Covid related rules, this course has always permitted you to buy their beer and food and consume it on the course. You cannot bring outside beer and food onto the course and consume it. Those were the general rules in place prior to Covid.

Maybe they just don't want you yahoos to get all liquored up and have an accident where now they have to bring in emergency personal to be in close contact with you and your Covfefe? Or otherwise engage in the activities that liquored up midwestern dooshbags engage in.

Depends on the state laws. For a stand alone building, the parking lot also is part of the property they own, but it's not part of the legal location where you can consumer alcohol. And I'm sure it takes some special rules to allow specifically roped off areas to be part of that location- to include parts of the sidewalk.

There are also cities that have temporary "patio areas" in summer, where it "becomes" the establishment's property for that time. Other times of the year, it's city property. In Hopkins (MN), in summer, parts of the sidewalks become that restaurant's/bar's patio area and have to follow the same rules as the establishment, but the rest of the year, it's just a sidewalk area for the general public.

So, right now, I can grab a sandwich from somewhere, and sit in front of one of those places, as the Patio Rule is not in effect.

Jesus christ are you really wondering why they dont want people drinking out on the golf course right now? I bet if you think long and hard about it you can understand why. Here I will give you a little help:

1) Do people who are drinking do a good job of following rules and regulations? (especially when they have been stuck inside for so long)

2) Do people who drink whilst golfing usually only have 1? Are you going to force them to walk back to the clubhouse to get more? Are you going to sell them 6 packs? Have a "Beer Girl" risk herself by driving out and serving each hole?

This isnt rocket science. There wont be enough sales to really change the profit margin that much, and certainly not enough to deal with the risks. As such there is no need for beer sales. This isnt "Hamburgers vs. Hot Dogs" it is "Hamburgers vs. Cigarettes".

No one is suggesting that a club have someone bring beers onto the course. The idea that someone would just walk in from the course to get a beer is silly, but I realize you were stretching for questions.
