Re: Covfefe-19 part 6: Waiting For Advice from Kid Rock and Tiger Woods now.

Is it a fear of heights or a fear of falling? Like being in an airplane is still heights. But generally safe.
I guess it's the latter. I've become comfortable flying.

Just passed 12k...

Hey Kep, I don't know if you've been over to the "dark side" (DI Covid thread) today or not but, I responded last night to something "Chuck" had posted to my original post on that thread and, he has yet to address anything I posted, even though he's already sent three other posts. Sure you don't want to jump into the fray with me? :)

It's a dirty job but somebody's gotta do it 🤣

Re: Covfefe-19 part 6: Waiting For Advice from Kid Rock and Tiger Woods now.

How about roller coasters? I had a big problem with them for a while.

It's been 25 years, but I recall being both somewhat more nervous than the average knucklehead who DOESN'T REALIZE WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE ON THIS THING and somewhat comforted by the adherence to a giant steel structure. It's the free falling that gets to me. Don't talk to me about hang gliding or icy mountain roads.

Re: Covfefe-19 part 6: Waiting For Advice from Kid Rock and Tiger Woods now.

AZ liberals are awesome. As with most states, it's the conservatives that give the place a bad name. (The only places where the liberals are just as bad as the conservatives are Massachusetts and the San Francisco Peninsula).

You could fairly exclude those folks living in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Liberal and small town/rural but not at all like the canyon culture around LA.

Probability you are sick times damage you would inflict vs probability you are OK times help you would provide. Let the math decide.

Very nice ethical dilemma, by the way, and not a trolly car in sight.
As my doc said after I couldn't get tested, she told me to stay home from work until the next week, and I asked, " but what if I feel better tomorrow, or the next day?" and she said, " then you know you did the right things, you took care of yourself, and you were looking out for other people".

Go home, stay home until you haven't had fever for 24 hours, without medication.

Re: Covfefe-19 part 6: Waiting For Advice from Kid Rock and Tiger Woods now.

But back to my question. A month ago I heard, "It's twice as catchy than the flu, and 10 times deadlier" reflecting an r0 of 2.7 (compared to 1.3) and fatality rate somewhere north of 1% (as compared to 0.1%). Is there newer information on these?

Hey Fade... thoughts and prayers to these clowns. Maybe.

Yet they’re still six feet apart.

That kills me. They should be smooshing together to prove their point

The "Public health AND civil rights" people (this is my brother, and the people in the pics) are all about proving we are smart enough to social distance and wash our hands (and apparently wear masks) without the darn government making new rules about it.

Have you met us? Or at least, the 37% of us at the bottom of the barrel?

It's not my opinion. I mean the people in the picture. They have faith either in the intelligence of their fellow Americans, or in Darwinism.

That's not fear of heights. That's fear of lack of control.

Don't marry.

In another month, you'll be 20 years too late for that heads-up :p
Your point is well taken though. I have PTSD from practice driving with 2 teenage girls.

Sorry - should have said "they," not "you."
