Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

Re: Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

Except it isnt. 10k off the top does nothing. Would be better to go for "1 year no payment, no accrued interest" than just wipe out 10k. That stimulates nothing unless they only have 10k because they still need to make payments.

If they want stimulus they need to eliminate payments in the here and now, not lower them when they come back. (and the lowering would be insignificant) Make a payment holiday for a significant amount of time and THEN you have stimulus.

10K off the top is going to help my daughter a lot. But, yeah, whatever.

That's some dam good hoaxing. Still, outhoaxed by Spain??

Spain has fallen behind...obviously their media isnt overhyping this enough.

BTW worldwide cases approaching 373 thousand...should be over 400k by days end. I believe again that is less time than the last 100k.

Most people who have trouble paying are on the income based plans (PAYE, REPAY etc) and thus the payments are tied to income. Taking 10K off will not really help them much because they were not paying the "expected" payment on the balance, instead a pro-rated rate based on last year's taxes.

I have 270K in loans from medical school and am on PAYE. 10K off my balance would not change my payments at all (not that I am arguing that I should be targeted with the stimulus as a job in healthcare right now, is stable).

That is great...too bad your daughter is one person amongst millions.

note: I am not saying IN GENERAL it is a bad idea, I am saying it will do exactly nothing to stimulate anything in the here and now. For many it wouldnt even make a dent...it would lower payments a few bucks. It is not disimilar to the ridiculous middle class tax cut that added like $20 per paycheck. (though more valuable)

Honestly, if they are going to fight for something they should fight for a much deeper cut...fight fire with fire. For every dollar paid to bail out a business the same amount must be used to pay off student loan debt. THAT would be worth tanking this over.

That works for me. That's more. But as I said after the last tax cut when I got nothing and I am the supposed "middle class" target, I'll take anything right now to take some pressure off.

Re: Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

I honestly dont know if I did either...but 10k off my student loan debt wont give me anything either.

Re: Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

Not in a stimulus package. Suspend payments and/or accrued interest and that will. That was my point.

I don't disagree but the other side gets whatever they want whether it's stimulus or not. That's all I'm saying.

That's what I favor. Do it for mortgage, internet, credit cards, and some other expenses as well. Government can absorb that for the time being.

Re: Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

Ok, but Pelosi and others are proposing a $10k full on reduction on top of anything related to payment and interest relief. Don't like that even if the GOP plan is full of do doo.

Re: Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

I'm (not) looking forward to Trump going out in a few days and ordering businesses reopen but there's no way he can keep his mouth shut while his reelection tanks with a 25% unemployment rate. Ought to be entertaining from an abstract view

Why? What's not to like? The Republicans have blown 23 trillion on crap. Time to get some of that money back to the people. However it can be done.
