Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

Re: Covfefe-19 - Part 4- Stay the **** Home

I figure if this is still going by Memorial Day everyone under the age of 35 is going to basically start getting out of control.

We don't even last until Memorial Day. It's not realistic to think you can lock people down for a month, let alone two, and just shut down the country.

The only real solution is to ramp up ventilator manufacturing as fast as possible, ramp up testing, protect the healthcare workers and deal with it as it comes.

Good idea. Why don't we start doing that.

And I mean, start.

I don't think Buck understands what would happen if we lose 2-10 million Americans over the next four months.

It's already started. 3M has ramped up mask production. Mayo Clinic got their testing process going and wiped out Minnesota's entire backlog of tests in a single day. That's just here in Minnesota.

Ventilators are complex to operate and require specialized training as they have to be calibrated for every patient. If you ramp up manufacturing eventually people will be the bottleneck.

I read an article about putting physicians, nurses, PAs, and veterinarians through a two day course on how to operate the ventilator . Veterinarians scored best on average. Time to start training vets to be emergency respiratory therapists.

Which pretty much makes the article you were defending before worthless. If you believe China's numbers they got that way doing things we can never do here. Their datapoint is worthless in the context of discussing the US.

And by the time we do manufacture more ventilators it will be WAY too late. Speaking of which:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Dear <a href="https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@realDonaldTrump</a>: I don’t know if you were misinformed or if you lied to the AMERICAN people, but automakers are not making ventilators right now. Can you please activate the Defense Production Act? We need protective equipment & ventilators to fight the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/COVID%E3%83%BC19?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#COVIDー19</a> outbreak. <a href="https://t.co/x4NjssB1DV">https://t.co/x4NjssB1DV</a></p>— Ted Lieu (@tedlieu) <a href="https://twitter.com/tedlieu/status/1242103938842677250?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 23, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Yeah a state where we have the resources to do that. (cause we are Blue...funny)

How are things going in say...Florida? Alabama? Texas? They arent even testing people there let alone helping them.

Oh and...how are we doing on making more ventilators?

You are reaching...

3M won't have increased capacity on new lines until January in a perfect world.

Just wait until the GOP commandeers the resources of blue states to ship to the red states.

I'm only half kidding. Smash and grab is a very flexible concept.

China didn't lock down the whole country, did they? They locked down a province, iirc. It's a huge number of people, because it's China after all, but it was tens of millions out of 1.5 billion.

I think what China really did was stop reporting their numbers. They just said "if we don't report a fact it isn't a fact." i.e., the mindset of the right in our country.

So, in a way, we can do it here. Dump can try, anyway.

And we cant even do that! Seriously do you not understand why this doesnt work or are you just being obtuse because you like to poke the libs every so often.

Look you can choose to believe the "lone voice in the wilderness" or you can listen to the rest (especially those dealing with actual victims not random models) who say he is underselling everything. I know what I am doing...but I also believe in the hoax that is "Climate Change" so what do I know.

He did...and two months later it killed 11000 points on the Dow. (and we havent got anything official on unemployment or GDP losses yet)

how many weeks into this thing are we now? When did we first get word of this in the US? In China?

Day late and a dollar short. But you keep on being you.

How are things going? 21 people have died. Those three states have probably seen triple that number die from sniffing glue since March 1.

NYC is our Wuhan province. Take the money from the Mexican wall and go full Escape From New York on them. We'll even send the President back home, a la Donald Pleasence, then shoot Kepler into the city in a couple of years to check up on them.

You are right...we are good. Please feel free to resume your normal course of life.

It is all BS people...stop panicking.

Yes, because they tested and isolated where the virus was.

Why don't we do that here? Oh, oops, too late.
