My friends in Manila said that metro manila goes on lockdown starting tonight. Seems to still be rumor but pres is speaking today so I expect him to take action

I can see an all out **** show beginning. Anyone who was on here during 9-11, this thread reminds of that thread. The near future doesn't look good and that effect will last a long time I'm afraid. I guess my question about who on here will get Covid 19 first has now changed to how many of us will get Covid 19.

Someone at my company was sent home when it was determined they had been at a conference with someone that was positive for Covid-19

We normally have visitors pretty much every day from all over the U.S. and internationally, and we have a facility in China. Planned visits have been cancelling left and right.

We have U.S. locations in Maine, Connecticut, and California and internal travel is already pretty much stopped voluntarily. I would expect an official ban soon (and there is constant travel between our ME and CT facilities, enough that we now have chartered flights twice a week).

Friend of mine on Facebook posted this morning that her friend is on a trans-Atlantic cruise bound for Europe and was turned around in the night and headed back to the States. No word on whose decision it was to turn back.

While you're not wrong, neither is he. Not entirely. SOmeone is either covering a margin, hedging a short, or buying at a fire sale price. The people who can do those right now are a fairly small subset of investors.

Honestly, this is a secret service nightmare scenario. Can't have a metal detector for a virus. Can't pat someone down. All someone has to do is cough at him.

You don't need to fire a rocket at washington, you just need to infect it with something that kills the olds. The Senate and President would be in trouble.

I didn't say it was intentional, I said somebody is making a fortune. They are swooping in and making buys low (or they will). That IS how the market works, and you know it.
