Cornell @ RPI, Friday, January 8th

Re: Cornell @ RPI, Friday, January 8th

Period ends with a 0-0 tie.
Cornell owned the last ten minutes of the period. We were not very good in our own zone again.

Re: Cornell @ RPI, Friday, January 8th

Cornell took over the last 5 minutes. RPI on its heels, fortunate to get away even. Too many RPI attempted shots missing the net.

Re: Cornell @ RPI, Friday, January 8th

Perhaps the most boring and uninteresting first periods I have seen against Cornell in a long time. The only positive for RPI is winning more face offs than I have seen all season (or last season). Looks like we could set the ECAC record for most icings also. Our defensemen are going to have to make quicker decisions getting the puck up ice. Cornell forecheck may not be the fastest but these boys are big and can keep you tied up against the boards.

I can't figure out if "boring and uninteresting" is good or bad for us.

No kidding; I have to drag out the logic puzzles to stay awake...

First time I have seen Cornell this year and so far I am really quite surprised that they do not use their size more effectively to establish control. When 5' 8" Jake Wood flattens 6' 7" Christian Hilbrich with no real response I start to think that I like our chances in this game.
