Double shutouts for RPI today, Selander and Kasdorf.
Totally different style needed. We will have to force the play and keep it in their zone. Cannot allow them to stay around. Need to get a couple quickly and take the game from them in a very quiet HFH.Mow we have to beat Colgate.
Although the saves he made did not look spectacular (no breakaways no odd man rushes). Most were screened and he really covered up the net and slowed the play by holding the puck. Just a well controlled performance by one of the best goalies i have seen in my 50+ years watching RPI

I have to question why our defense always seems to move the puck backward behind our net when they are pressed at all. With a team as big as Cornell, you are just asking for trouble allowing them to fight against you along the boards in your own zone.
One of those was a total miscommunication with the player coming back in front of the net. This is another of our problems. We had a couple chances to clear the puck out of the zone but it appeared we just did not know where our other defenseman was. We were just fortunate we did not give one up. That 3 on 1 against when we finished the power play almost had me throw up.Except for the couple of times he handled the puck and left the net wide open. Cornell whiffed twice.
it is all about match ups. We do seem to be able to match up well with Cornell and Yale the past couple of years. But for some reason, we do not against some of the weaker teams.'Gate beat Union 4-2.

First time I have seen Cornell this year and so far I am really quite surprised that they do not use their size more effectively to establish control. When 5' 8" Jake Wood flattens 6' 7" Christian Hilbrich with no real response I start to think that I like our chances in this game.
Kudos to Tom going solo the entire game.
