fr. joe,

It you posted the wrong date on purpose, it doesn't count as good luck. :)

Re: Cornell @ RPI, Friday, January 8th

For those who are attending tonight's game, it is WHITEOUT night!
Fans are asked to wear white fo the game. Let's go WHITE!!

Re: Cornell @ RPI, Friday, January 8th

This feels like a very key game. A a win here will really build momentum entering the 2nd half of the ECAC season. Wish I were closer to Troy so I could come see it in person.

Re: Cornell @ RPI, Friday, January 8th

This is a key weekend. Our ECAC away schedule the rest of the way is brutal. We have to win our remaining home games if we are to hope to finish in the top four in this league.
We are capable of beating anyone, but we have to be at our best and play for 60 minutes. This is where we find out what we are made of.

Lets go cherry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to mention that RPI is right now tied for 17th in the PWR. These next couple of games could go a long way to improving that in case they don't win the league.

A big weekend... battle on the boards and in front of the crease... and crunch the numbers with some wins!

Re: Cornell @ RPI, Friday, January 8th

RPI leading winless Union 1-0 after two periods, shots are just 26-18 and the Engineers are a bit lucky to have any lead at all in this one. They have benefitted from some very incompetent officiating. RPI should have half a dozen holding, hooking and tripping calls against them, but have zero. And a bad offside call near the end of the period nullified a Union breakaway. Oh well, take your breaks when the zebras grant them.

Re: Cornell @ RPI, Friday, January 8th

RPI women, unimpressive 2-0 win over winless Union this afternoon.

Re: Cornell @ RPI, Friday, January 8th

Dude: Maybe Feola will surprise us and forget which team is the RED one tonight? If I have followed the ECAC correctly, both these teams get called for more penalties than their opponents which should make for a lot of special teams play tonight. Not a good omen given our lack of success on the power play.

Re: Cornell @ RPI, Friday, January 8th

Agree with others here that this will be a spirited and physical game and that special teams and discipline (physical but avoid retaliation penalties) will be key. Any guesses on crowd size tonight? Should be large...wish I could be there.

Not that large, given students aren't in session.

Wow...classes don't start until the 25th? Has RPI always taken a winter break this long?

I keep forgetting this diff between US and Cdn colleges. I took my undergrad and grad degrees in Cda but my daughter went to RPI. In Cda, shorter winter break, but spring session ends around the end of April.

When I was there, classes began on the same week as MLK Day. Shortly after I graduated, they pushed it out a week, I assume because of the whole study abroad thing.
