In my one visit to Houston Field House many, many years ago I remember sitting on bleachers behind a goal. Has the configuration been changed?

Actually it has been changed a few times. That part was reduced in size and then eliminated complexly as FD08 wrote. Worse than that, the band now sits in stands and not at the other end.

They did add some seats in the corners where there probably weren't any last time 40-Year Big Red was there.

At least it's decent back and forth play thus far, although stuck in the D a bit much here.
