Cops: No Snarky Nor Positive Title

Cops have been banned from NYC Pride events effective immediately.

I can see banning them wearing uniforms or as a formal police group. The cops right now are... problematic.

But banning them from coming in street clothes and just marching as themselves? That's counterproductive.

I'd just flat ban Republicans, though. Their voting is a lethal threat to LGBTQ.

The first garbage song by Genesis. And it's (AB)ACAB.

Edit: I lied. Duke is garbage, too. More like Turn It Off Again, amirite?!

Dude - I know it's ABACAB and I was joking about but it being great.

frt that album came out when I was 13. Of all the great bands of that era my brother (5 years my senior) had not yet introduced me to Genesis and ABACAB was my reference point. It wasn't until a few years later that I learned how badly things went downhill after Peter Gabriel left.

I am going to move my next thought to the music thread...

My wife had a murder trial that was supposed to start today. Couldn't get a jury picked in part because the local fishwrap decided to publish details of all the motion in limine arguments from Monday.

For all you holiday inn express attorneys out there, motions in limine are the arguments each side makes to exclude certain topics or evidence from being raised during trial for various reasons, but mainly because they could be unduly prejudicial to the jury.

Is that normal to publish that? It doesn't really seem like a normal thing to do.

In a high profile case, I don't think it's that unusual. Think about all the times you've heard about the defense trying to exclude a confession supposedly made by the defendant. Our system requires us to depend upon the jury pool conveniently not hearing about it, or willing to ignore it when instructed by the judge.
