Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

This is like watching the Iraqis walking through Saddam's torture rooms.

Authority is ultimately either by force or by permission. We are seeing the permission withdrawn.

What do you want them to do? I mean, yeah, it sucks **** is burning down, but kinda hard to protect everything.

I don’t think there’s a lot they’ve handled wel here.

Heck I have MPD officers texting me how bad they think it’s being handled - I’m talking about north side officers so they’re kind of on the sidelines to a degree

I agree they couldn't do a dang thing once the violence reached its peak. The optics were bad, though, no doubt. Darned if you do, darned if you don't.

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

Im dead serious.

I have some respect left for St Paul PD.

Firefighters were being attacked. The 3rd precinct has now fallen, and looters grabbed police-grade riot gear from the station.

They fire tear gas/etc, they are being "too forceful."

IMO, they have now retreated to try and set up a new perimeter, to keep containment as best they can.

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

No one is hurt or anything...got a bit of misinformation. Will say my cousins store was looted and he is not a chain he is a long time member of the community.

God your romantic elevation of this is kinda gross. Why don’t you set your own neighborhood on fire in solidarity?

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

Has Arrandondo said anything? Nothing has been broadcast down here...I'd imagine he could be done with how poorly this seems to have been handled.

Good to hear, relatively! Hope he remains safe.

Should probably just hit the reset button on MPD...fire everyone.

Don't misrepresent me. You are clutching your white hat / black hat thing, desperately trying to find the pigeonhole. That's not what I am doing and it's not what this is about.

It is important to realize that burning a cop station isn't justice and the cop station wasn't justice, at the same time. This is real human beings reacting to their situation, not mediated through those simplistic narratives, which are applied afterwards to soothe the winner. This is neither bad nor good, but it is real. And what, in your comfortable middle class life, have you ever experienced that was real?

It's not good or bad. You have to wrap your head around that or you will just be watching a puppet show.

This is how things happen. It's not the scripted television we've been told was history ever since kindergarten. It's not operating on the critical axis, it's life.

Holy **** that’s bad. How is that not assault?

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

Nothing about any of this is good. Nothing. Maybe 5 years from now we can say that but everyone involved in all of this is some level of wrong.
