Who is in charge?

We are working with the State National Guard & MN DPS – who control Incident Command tonight – to provide support in South. <a href="https://t.co/2WEAvyeKMw">https://t.co/2WEAvyeKMw</a></p>— Mayor Jacob Frey (@MayorFrey) <a href="https://twitter.com/MayorFrey/status/1266585209337786369?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 30, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Gas station on fire.

Way to enforce curfew.

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

During this volatile situation, there were only 3 other cops and they will probably be charged.

So there were 3 there that could have stepped in right? I don't want them to have to be charged - I want them to do the RIGHT GOD**** THING in the moment and not commit a crime that lead to the death of a citizen. A bunch of cops saying the obvious, "Boy gee ah that was terrible" after the fact doesn't do jack s**t. Why can't you comprehend this?

Didn't help much. The Atlanta police chief had a similar conversation with protesters.

OK that is a lot of people at the WH protest. When I was there Secret Service would not let that many people be near the fence

Yeah those cops can die in a fire. They are the "good little Germans" letting atrocity happen and not caring.

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

What was the plan? Why bother with curfew? Are we gonna let the precincts burn one by one?

And if there were three different cops there, the situation might have been changed. Why can't you comprehend this?

WCCO basically said that the cops and Guard are going to let the protests go unless they get out of hand. Fifth Precinct is the priority.

Guard can't have live weapons so they are crowd control only.

Police are hitting the 5th now

They oftentimes have one cop with them, for arrest situations.

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

During this volatile situation, there were only 3 other cops and they will probably be charged. Once the video was seen and digested, this situation was condemned universally. UNIVERSALLY. And that video came out rather quickly.

And I agree with you that MPLS, of ALL cities, are the most peaceful overall so far tonight. I find that odd, considering that the Guard hasn't done anything, and the curfew has been widely ignored.

I try so hard to internet like you Brent, I really do. But the murder was not condemned universally. How about the Minneapolis FOP putting out a statement that this behavior from their cops won't be tolerated. How about every Minneapolis cop demanding an arrest of their 4 "brothers" because they want people to know they too "universally" condemn this murdering cop and the 3 who let him do it. I don't think a handful of politically appointed or elected chiefs and sheriffs 100s or 1000s of miles away is sufficient. I want every cop in the country to publicly acknowledge that there are serious problems in policing and they will be the change. That would come a little closer to universal condemnation.

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

Mike Max got tear gassed

(Minnesota people know him)

This pretty much kills the argument that de-escalation is the answer.

And the fifth is invade
