I'm on board with the first comment that it's to protect assets.

I think they were just told to go somewhere else. Probably the large fire in North that pretty much appears to be out at this point. Who knows.

Again, when things inevitably start to go south at the 5th you'll see them and the state police appear.

That being said, the amazing LACK of reaction by a vast majority of the police is outstanding.
